That was the decade that the first factory production automobiles were making the scene.

Many of those 1890s cars were electric until gasoline engines were refined to be more powerful, and more practical than what the electric cars were of that day and time.
By 1900, gasoline powered cars started to become the mainstream automobiles.

That's true-a lot of people don't realize some of the earliest cars did run on electricity!
