Well according to the comics Queen Chrysalis was unleashed upon the world by Star Swirl the Bearded when he nailed a warning to a certain magic tree out in a cursed swamp. She was also shown to fight both Celestia and Luna prior to Luna's banishment. So clearly well over a thousand years old, though probably much older as she sprang forth from her swampy prison fully formed along with her Changeling army, suggesting that her and her kind are from an alternate universe entirely.
