~ "Alright you are on!" Ion said as he readied his sword, answering Lazarus' question, Flint gave out a small cheer as Zephyr just shook his head, "I hope you know what you are doing" Zephyr said as the boys walked up the stairs of the shrine following Lazarus as he motioned them to follow. "Alright here we should have a good battleground, come at me when you are ready!" Lazarus exclaimed as walked forward and turned around crossing his arms, with Ion staring him down "go get him!" Flint yelled, "just be careful" Zephyr added with a mumble as Ion slowly walked walked forward, leaving his friends just under the tori gate. Ion continued to stare down Lazarus who just looked at him with a smile before all of a sudden lightning shot from Ion's feet as he darted almost instantly in front of Lazarus who only had a moment to deflect Ion's sword strike but he continued on the pressure, Lazarus seamed to struggle blow after blow of Ion's quick and precise sword strikes before Ion made a misstep which gave Lazarus the opening he was looking for. With a powerful force, Ion felt a blunt pain in his stomach as Lazarus' fist struck him hard, knocking him to his knees, leaning on his sword, Ion tried to get back on his feet but a moment latter, he found himself flying backwards as he felt another blow on his chest as Lazarus landed a powerful kick. The sound of metal hitting stone was heard as Ion's sword landed on the ground away from him, getting back to his knees, Ion took one look at where his sword landed and then back to Lazarus before eyeing his sword once more, "you think I am going to allow you to get that back?" Lazarus called out as a gust of wind almost forced Ion back on his back, getting up Ion tried to make a run for his sword but Lazarus was having none of that. After making a big inhale, fire started sprouting of his mouth, causing Ion to abandon his run for his sword and forcing him to run away from were the flames were coming but as he did, Ion conjured bolts of lightning in his hand and directed them back towards Lazarus. Lazarus made his fire breath more intense as he made a play to nullify Ion's lightning as both of their psynergy collided, "if he thinks this is going to work this time he's got another thing coming" Lazarus thought as he concentrated on overpowering Ion's mystic ability with his own, "I have trained for this, I will beat his lightning, I will... what the hell?" Lazarus' eyes widened as he noticed Ion was not trying to clash their psynergy, but use Lazarus' fire as a funnel to directly hit him as the lightning started swirling around the beam of fire, quickly closing in. Lazarus panicked for a moment as he ceased his fire breath, causing the lighting to stop just short of hitting him, with that crisis averted, Lazarus noticed Ion was almost back to retrieving his sword, as he seamed to use the psynergic attack as a decoy to retrieve it, darting through the air, Lazarus closed in on Ion and as just as he was about to grab it, Lazarus was able to land a blow to Ion's face, causing him to once again fly backwards across the ground. Ion got back on his knees slowly as he was in a bit of pain, Lazarus made sure to stay in front of Ion's sword to cut off any access he had to it, "so do you yield?" Lazarus called out as Ion stared back at him once more, he didn't know what to do, his trick didn't work and there was no way Lazarus would let him hold his sword again in this match, he was out of options. Hanging his head down Ion pondered over what his next move would, be what his next move should be, "what should I do?" he though to himself... ~
