Dude you're not to blame. Roth's choices led him to where he is. He always had a choice. He could have chosen to not be jealous, could have chosen to get to know Alex instead, understand his sister's feelings. His brother could have dealt with all the bad happening around them differently, he could have worked together with his sister to build a better life. He chose to numb himself with drink and drugs and wallow in his misery. Yeah, the way things played out really sucks for all involved but you can't carry someone else's sins. They all made their choices.
