Consider this a follow-up to this previous drawing.
Before the idea of the Freedom Fighters were finalized, there was the Freedom Team. This team was based directly off the animals Sonic rescues from inside Badniks and Capsules.
In this drawing, I had the westernization of the animals dressed as the concept designs of the Freedom Team. Once again, Sally Acorn is dressed a princess. Joe Sushi is wearing what I assume is some sort of scuba top. And lastly, Johnny Lightfoot and Porker Lewis are wearing sunglasses and leather jackets.
My backstory for the Freedom Team is a simple one. They are a group of 90s kids, inspired by the hero Sonic the Hedgehog. Johnny and Porker even wear clothes that reflect Sonic's 90s attitude. The latter even styled his hair to resemble the western Sonic's mohawk. But it's up for you to decide if his hair is real or not...
