These next two entries in my Valentine's Day series feature some lesser-known 1980s characters called the Hugga Bunch. These childlike beings come from a place called Huggaland, and cushiony-soft and colorful place reached only through mirrors. Their mission was to get everyone to come together through friendship and love, and to embrace each other. Their sacred creed was "Promise to hug at least once a day...With each hug you get, give two away". We could sure use them at this time, what with all the fighting, isolation through pandemics, and depression...and who would be braver to stand up to such things than the Hugga Bunch?
In the first one we see Hugsy, the sole male member of the bunch and a true ladies' man, embracing Huggins, the leader of the bunch. In the second one Hugsy's getting some serious affection from two more members of the bunch: Tweaker (left) and Bubbles. We could all use some of that love and embracing instead of violence and loneliness.
