After doing some practice, I finally figured out how to pull off a more painterly style in Medibang Paint on my phone, which allows me to more easily color in pieces. Though I do feel Krita is better as it allows me a lot more options and non-destructive editing, I find drawing on my phone is more convenient often because of where my tablet is set up. Though one day I will set up my tablet so it's more comfortable to draw on regularly.
I really like the result of this style and technique though, I'll be using this from now on. the only difference between what I did on Krita vs Medibang is in Medibang, there isn't a "blend" brush, but instead there's the watercolor (wet) brush, that acts very similar when using the right filters. So I just had to change up my layers and shading method. Hoping down the road I can start doing more stylized backdrops to represent Neutralia better as it's not really supposed to look pseudo realistic, but for now this is better than simple backgrounds. I'm working on that in 3D though.
The character is Tyranno, King of the Ceradons (dinosaur species). He was created by me, Kao Nocturatzu aka Starmaninja
