I know you've seen this guy once or twice around here, but, do you know how he came to be?
Well, to answer that, let's start with this beaver guy here:
Yep, Jim was almost this guy. I forget what his name was going to be (We'll call him Milo), but, I remember coming up with him after watching the episode of Angry Beavers where Dag kept trying to prove Norb (And nature) wrong that Beavers are naturally fearful and are prone to flee back to their dams when frightened.
This is his backstory:
In an undisclosed location, a laboratory specializing in government experiments was working on a new weapon that was going to be an amalgamation of all known monsters from folklore and movies. The resulting monstrosity (An artificially-evolved beaver) was created and presented to the CIA who didn't deem him threatening enough, so, he was thrown away into a glade somewhere in State X. He now spends his days protecting the denizens of the glade and its surrounding locations from any potential threats.
But, then, came the big guy:
This was my second draft of our favorite Cell/Shadow the Hedgehog pastiche. He was made for a Fist Of The North Star-Meets-The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto-like Post-Apocalyptic world, created by a famous scientist to protect his castle and the adjacent, well-supplied village from all sorts of bad and unsavory types who would come to destroy and/or control both. In particular, a man who relentlessly desires the latter backed by, what else? His army of the undead! Now, I'm not talking the generic brain-eaters or the modern-cliche super-virus types. Something more along the lines of somebody like Rottytops from the Shantae franchise...Except, they don't need coffee to keep from being the first part of the former. Basically, a Saturday morning Halloween-themed interpretation of Fist Of The North Star, but with monsters...Though, not as gory as that sounds.
I was all set to make him a thing, but, then, I asked myself, "What, you want this guy to be ANOTHER Adam Frankenstein wannabe and call it good? And, the version Hollywood wrought unto the world, no less!? Are you NUTS!? They'd brand you a hack on the spot! Push the envelope, man!"
Pushed it I did which lead to the gothic, pretentious dork of a dangerous hodgepodge we know today:
His personal lore is actually a combination of the first two concepts. My idea with him was to make him the Ultimate Movie Monster...An Ultimonster, if you will. You can't kill him, you can't get away...You could try to reason with him, but, your nose better be clean, if you know what I'm saying.
The last picture is just what he looks like thanks to the Werewolf part of his genetic make-up.
