Months ago the boys in St. Lovejoy got 2 tickets for the End of Year School Dance. Many of the girls will be getting one as well but it is encouraged for the guys to go as the girl out. The schools of Pouncefeild all work together in getting this done and share the venue for that date. Fernando decides to ask Minerva out to make up for the rough year they had.
The End of Year Dance is held at the Pouncefield Hilton Ball Room as it is big enough to house all the students and staff for this one grand night. Some of the boys rent out a hotel room just in case they think they were going to get lucky. Fernando gets a room in case one of his sisters needs a place to rest.
Down in the ballroom, the couples get together for their date, as does Fernando and Minerva.
Their conversation is as follows...
Fernando: What is a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?
Minvera: You sent me an invite to this date. Remember?
Fernando: Oh, then anything I can do to make this date memorable for you?
Minvera: No. Just be yourself. And if you could get me a sunflower seed muffin I would greatly appreciate it.
Fernando: “End of date kiss” appreciate it?
Minvera: “I don’t cry and dad tries to hunt you down and kill you” appreciate it.
Fernando: OK. What do you want to do first? Dance? Dinner?
Minvera: Get me the sunflower seed muffin first. You get me that and, remember your first date with Poki, which she gave you her panties?
Fernando: Yeah?
Minvera: Just think about it. And yes I know nothing happened between you and her on that date. It was just the symbolism of the thing.
Fernando: OK. I don’t get it but OK.
Minvera: I’ll give you a hint. If the girl likes you then the girl like you. It’s like you giving me a flower. She giving you her panties means that she likes you.
Fernando: OK. I can live with that...
