oh....Oooooh. hehehe I bet she is thinking of Aryn in a new way now, seeing that blush hehehe.
I wonder if Aryn's ears are burning up top now.

And it is interesting to know that they can stay down there so long. Makes me wonder how the other siege ended.

hehe, he sure wish~ ;w;

well it was a thing that i've given way too much, seeing how it's not awfully relevant to the story itself, but i just can't help myself XD
so for you, and anyone else who might be curious:
As this was before the age of siege engines, it was significantly easier to still keep the city itself running. So certain areas were converted to temporary farming units, with the help of the underground river. So with that near infinite  water source, some farmable plots, the moon crabs (which i have an entire wiki worth of info on, but to put it short: they're a fast reproducing and growing edible arthropod with no natural enemies and has evolved to survive through extreme environments), as well as having insects as another major food staple (and insects are notoriously easy to farm), they were doing really well on the inside of the wall. Their only major issues being the lack of space on top, diseases spreading easier from such extended cramped living conditions, and serious cabin fever for those who were living in the caves.
The Aardians, or aardwolves, used the fennecs' response to an invasion as their opportunity to simple seize the lands outside the Capitol, and tried to establish themselves there while attempts to locate and seize the underground tunnels were made during the latter ten years. Which was easier said than done, as all they could do was guess where to start digging and hoping the ground was sturdy enough to support their excavation tunnels.
However, without the access to the underground river they were forced to rely on the rain seasons and the small river between Shajarat and Aardia to keep the land arable. Even if the weather was much more reliable back then, they still struggled just as much there as they did back home. Sometimes even more so, as the underground river apparently contributed a lot more than they initially thought to the fennecs agricultural profits.
But at the end of the siege, the old King of Aardia had died and been succeeded by his son, who was tired of this nonsense and just called off his father's semi-successful attempt at occupying Shajarat, and ordered every aardwolf to withdraw and come back home. Wanting to fix the issues within his own kingdom first before trying to expand.
So basically, it was the longest game of chicken in history, and their victory only bolstered the fennecs' faith in their timeless strategy lol!

Oh very interesting.  I hope that their bolstering of their faith in that old strategy does not backfire hehe. But something tells me it will.

I wonder how much of that history the current King knows and has he shared it with his daughter.  Ohhh I want to see the nex page know and know more of what is going on hehe

hehe, it may, or it may not ;3

their history is actually one of the most important things to the fennecs, and even the lowest in the hierarchy ladder knows at least the basics of their origins and their old heroes. And as for the royalties, it is very important for them to basically know their entire history and major events by heart so yes, both her and the King knows very much about it ;3

so happy to hear you're excited for it tho! I admittedly am too, especially for the end of this chapter~

Ohh are we getting near the end? I wonder if it will be a cliff hanger.

Will you make a physical comic out of it once your all done?

sort of, chapter 2 has 85 pages, but i'm probably gonna be doing some double posting towards the end just to speed up the pacing a little
and you shall see~ ;3

i honestly don't know, as this is just a passion/hobby project of mine and not something i've intended to make money off of or making it into a bigger published thing. On the other hand, it would actually be pretty fun to have physical pages of it someday, and even more so if others would ever want that as well. So yeah, i don't know! I might look into it in the future, but not right now ^^
