Given that Rarity clearly still takes time to style her own mane, meaning she still cares atleast a bit about her apperance, I can't help but think it seems a bit odd that she'd just a simple black eyepatch.
I mean, I can understand it not being white, since that would blend into her fur, and maybe look a bit creepy.
