Marle quickly figured out what gives her focus. She knew that physical stimulation helped galvanize her mind and enabled her to focus so she could work her powers effectively. She was typically a loner - choosing to be one after her tumultuous youth and upbringing by toxic and verbally abusive parents, but she could not escape the need to lay with another (giraffe or not) to rebuild her fractured mind so she could be a normal person again. Once normal, she is quite intelligent, capable, and very savvy in many forms of crafts and trades that help enable her passion to breathe life into feral companions who serve her far better company than those her assisted in giving her that focus - but she must first get to that point. So, she is well versed in the ways of seduction and getting another mammal to sleep with her. She's only concerned with the end goal, however, and once she achieves her focus, she's pretty quick to stop the proceedings and do what she was going to do before she needed a little assist - much to the chagrin of those she had convinced.
EDIT: *sigh* Looks like I need to clarify a few things based on some DMs regarding Marle: She is not a tease or someone who gives guys the cold turkey for fun. She was raised in a verbally abusive and manipulative household where she was treated like crap due to being a runt and then later left at an orphanage to rot. She was then later given to a new family who abused her more and that fractured her already messed up psyche even further. So to say she doesn't have the best way of dealing with people is an understatement. She struggles to maintain personal relationships and the only way she can feel close to anyone is through some of the ways she was abused - as awful as that sounds (and yes, this does have some truth in reality, but I won't discuss that further here). She never truly 'gets off' and leaves someone hanging - it's more like: she gets to a point where she can focus on what's important to her. The connection with the other person to get there is almost like an afterthought at that point - not because she maliciously or intentionally drops the ball, but just because she no longer thinks about it. It's very difficult to describe Marle's thought process, but it is never malevolent.
That's honestly really sweet. This is an issue I do plan to explore and have her, as a character, work through. I've marked out another character in my roster who will help her reintegrate back with others after being alone for so long when we first meet her, starting in book 3.
