"This is quite nice isn't it?" Ion asked the fennec fox laying beside him in the grass, "it really is, especially since you are right here beside me" Flint replied as they both looked up at the clouds passing by. Both of them were recently released from the hospital about a week ago, after both of them underwent major open heart surgery, Ion to save Flint's life as his disease started to worsen, both had been recovering at Ion's family estate after their release and spent may of the afternoons just relaxing in one of the gardens. "I just wish you didn't have to wear the same scars as I do now" Flint said after a few minutes of silence, "hopefully our chest furs will grow back soon so they can be hidden once again." "Why?" Ion asked, "I never got why you hate the scars so much, I find them kind of cool, I am happy to have this scar down my chest now" Ion continued as Flint gave him a puzzled look. "Why would you be happy to get a surgery scar?" Flint asked, "well it is not just a surgery scar" Ion started saying, "it's a battle scar that reminds me of what I went through to help out a friend I love so much, a friend who wouldn't be here if I was not opened up, I would gladly take this scar any day so he could be here right beside me, so I can continue spending time with him, it is a mark of that friendship and love" Ion continued as Flint started smiling and laughing. "Even if it connects to this one down here?" Flint asked as he ran his finger down Ion's chest scar, over to the one that it connect to that ran down his belly from a emergency surgery Ion had to years ago, an emergency situation that was caused by Flint, "sorry I caused so much pain." Ion then just smiled back at Flint, "don't be, like I said, that one was my fault for startling you while you were out hunting with the other fennec warriors" Ion started answering, "yes I am fine with it as that scar is my punishment for putting you through all that stress and anxiety, them connection hopefully means that I finally have made it up to you for my transgressions" Ion continued as Flint shook his head. "Your transgressions? I am the one who shot you with that arrow, if anyone deserves to have a mark of shame it should me me, you had nothing to make up for, I do and now I have twice as much since you now saved my life, I am still surprised you wanted to go through all this after what I did to you" Flint said as Ion pulled him close into an embrace. "When you love someone, there are no ill feelings hampered towards them and there is no counting how much you owe then back, they do things because they love that person, I went through all this because I love you and can't imagine you not here beside me, you own me nothing for this as I would do it all over again if it means you will still be here with me" Ion said in a calming tone as Flint began to cry. Ion just placed a hand on Flint's back and gave him a gentle rub for comfort, a few minutes passed before Flint wiped his eyes, "sorry about that" he said as Ion shook his head, "no need to be sorry, I am here for you if you ever need a hug or a shoulder to cry on" Ion said Flint started smiling, making an almost devious one. "What about if I need a kiss?" Flint asked, as Ion gave him a look, "well we are dating now aren't we? Wouldn't that make you my boyfriend? And don't boyfriends... like to... kiss each other?" Flint continued on stuttering a bit but Ion smiled and pressed his lips against Flint's giving him what he wanted. "You have that right" Ion said as their lips parted, "if you want a kiss, I am happy to give one to you anytime" Ion continued as rolled back onto his back, laying on Ion's arm that was embracing him and laughed with a big smile. Ion just gazed over at Flint happy he was able to pull him out of his sadness and put that cute smile back on his face, he just wanted Flint to be happy and he would make sure to do everything in his power to keep him smiling, there was this bond between them now that ran as deep as their soul, something that was unbreakable no matter the hardships that would come to pass ~
