no.7: Plant
Plant was a tricky one, again as it's an entry with so many possibilities and there's been so many before that you don't wanna make it look like every other flower girl character. I dabbled with the idea of a cactus character, which I would like to do at some point in the future, but those are also pretty common and I didn't have a concrete idea passed that. As I thought more, I wanted something that best fit Halloween. The obvious choice being a pumpkin and I really, really wanted to. I love jack-o-lanterns but I have a couple pumpkin themed characters and even if it would be fun it was too low-hanging fruit and again, I had no real idea passed that until it clicked in my mind... a mandragora... who just so happened to be the lead singer of a screamo band!
The rest was fairly easy. I wanted to go for something less extreme, body wise. I wanted her to be real thin, but subtly lopsided in sort of a cute, awkward way. I know. Me, of all people, being subtle. Imagine! But, extremes aren't for everyone and I wanna appeal to as many people as possible here... then I caved and slapped a giant pair of lips on her. So much for keeping it subtle. I'm not sorry.
