Pokémon Soaring Earth chapter 7
Dear diary:
I admit it. Seeing Lucian there, rubbing my tummy just made me lost all my inhibitions. I love him. I love him way too much and I think we will be fine being… well… you know… =^w^= mates… As for today, we are heading to Clashton Gym so I challenge Noah. I hope to be enough like to prove my worth against him. By the way, don’t you think this is a pretty shiny day? A good battle awaits, I’m surrounded by my friends, Katy is going to cheer me at the Gym and I got me a handsome poke-boyfriend. This day couldn’t be better.

Draco.
Draco was walking to the gym followed by Lucian and Drake. Behind them were Katy and Reptyst who was walking along her. That was a good day and of course, it would be a great battle. Lucian, Drake and he had talked about if he should ask help to Galapagus or not. In the end, they decided that if it was necessary and a three on three pokémon battle, he should do it. After all, it was his only third pokémon. He had two more friends in the farm, a Noctowl and a Skarmory, but they would never listen to him since they were their mother and father partners. And of course, they were free pokémon.
“What you thinking?” asked Katy.
“About my other two friends back in home” said Draco “Of course, they are my parents’ pokémon so I cannot fight with them. But they would be a great help.”
“What kind of pokémon are they?” asked Katy.
“A Noctowl called Nahuala and a Skarmory called Serena” said Lucian “they were like the mother of all the little sprouts. Even for me, though Draco was the one in charge of me. Nahuala used to peak his head when he tried to play with me sometimes when I was a Riolu” giggled Lucian.
“And it wasn’t funny” said Draco.
They all laughed at that and finally, after a long walk, they arrived to the Gym. A huge construction designed to look like a medieval Japanese dojo house. It was surrounded by tall walls and a gigantic gate was closed with an interphone to the side.
“Well, looks like technology made its way thru here” laughed Katy to relief their tension.
“I know” smiled Draco and went to the interphone “Hum… excuse me, I came to challenge the Gym leader, Noah. My name is Draco from Komeo Town.”
No sound came from the interphone but the gates opened and a large front yard full of martial artist furs showed up. They all saluted with a loud “hya!” and a japanse-monk-like dressed panda got close to them. The students made a path and the panda finally reached them.
“So, you should be my next opponent, right?” said the panda breathing deep “I am Noah, the leader of this fine dojo and Gym. My students are as good as their pokémon. Are you sure you want to take this challenge?”
“Yes I am!” nodded decisive Draco.
“I like your style kid!” laughed Noah patting Draco’s head “You better get ready since this will be a total devastation against your party if you are not prepared.”
“I’ll show you I’m worthy, sir” said Draco and he entered the dojo following Noah and followed by his pokémon and Katy with her partner.
Noah guided them thru the dojo and the students followed them. The place was all built on wood and of course all the furs had to clean their paws before entering there. Just like Draco and Katy did. The students went thru a door that, Noah said, would lead them to the seats. Katy took the opposite door and released her pokémon to be a bigger cheer group. Draco on the other hand followed Noah and entered the huge arena that resembled a Zen Garden full of rocks and sand.
“This is my realm dear Draco. This is where all the training shows its fruits” said Noah taking his position on a side of the Zen garden over a rock and sitting there in a meditation position “Now; you should take your position and get ready.”
Draco took his place in front of Noah and looked behind him. Of course that should be part of his strategy. His whole list of students was there. Cheering him and making a lot of noise encouraging his master. He looked behind him and saw a poor in comparison cheer group conformed by Katy, Reptyst, Taillow and Kadabra.
“Come on, don’t pay attention to all the environment, if you are not focused then I’m going to crush you in less than a blink of an eye.” Warned Noah.
“Y-yes… I’m sorry” said Draco more nervous than he had been before.
Having that entire crowd looking at him was terrifying. But he had to overcome it if he wanted to win. Lucian stood by his side just like Drake and Draco smiled.
“Here goes nothing guys” said Draco.
“This battle between Noah, Clashton Village Gym leader and Draco from Komeo Town is about to begin. The fight will be three on three. Only the challenger is allowed to change pokémon. if the three pokémon of one of the trainers are not able to continue the battle will be over” announced the judge, an old mouse “The challenger Draco will have the first move!”
Draco looked at Drake and he went to the arena roaring and growling ready for the battle thinking that he would do whatever it takes for his master and friend to win that badge.
“Hmm… a fire/dragon pokémon?” asked Noah “This will be interesting” he snickered and tossed a ball without moving from his seat “Go, Sawk”
Draco saw the Sawk in the arena and Drake backed off a bit surprised by the pokémon that landed almost over him.
“The fight will start now!” announced the judge.
“Sawk use stone edge!” ordered Noah.
“Drake dodge it and use flamethrower!” quickly ordered Draco.
Sawk got ready and prepared his attack, but when Drake tried to move to dodge it, he found that his paws were a bit buried in the sand so he wasn’t able to move fast enough. The stones hit directly the dragon against his chest and made him fall down.
“Drake!” shouted Draco surprised by that. And he remembered what Katy had told him “Drake over the rocks!”
Drake obeyed and flew to the closest rock standing in the high terrain. Noah smiled at that and gave another order.
“Use rock smash!” shouted Noah and Sawk responded destroying the rock where Drake was standing.
Drake shook a bit and then he flew to the next rock.
“Drake use dragon rage!” ordered Draco and Drake attacked.
The impact was directly against Sawk’s back. Draco and his cheer group shouted but their happiness turned to concern when they saw the pokémon shaking his clothes and smiling.
“That won’t be enough to beat us” said Noah “Sawk use ice punch now!”
Sawk nodded and ran against Drake impacting him in the belly when he tried to go to the next rock to dodge.
“Drake, endure it!” shouted Draco and started to think as fast as he could.
Drake panted a bit landing in the sand with part of his belly frozen.
“What should I do… if he’s not able to…” started Draco but then he remembered that Drake knew another attack now “Drake fly up high and use aerial ace!”
Drake nodded and spread his wings flying and escaping from the second ice punch Noah had ordered. The dragon flew looking for the perfect moment to attack and finally he found it. Sawk turned around a bit trying to find him and Drake attacked impacting right on his back.
“Sawk hold on!” shouted Noah but Sawk was already down to the ground fainted.
“Sawk is not able to continue, Firegon wins this match!”
“Well done my friend” smiled Noah and returned Sawk to his pokeball “This is the first time he’s defeated this quick. Your Firegon surely is strong.”
“His name is Drake” said Draco and looked at Noah, ready for the next match against the Gym leader. One down and two more to go.
“Go Hitmonlee!” roared Noah sending his second partner to the field. Hitmonlee appeared and his stance was completely perfect for battle.
“The second round will begin now!”
“Drake use dragon rage!” ordered Draco and Drake obeyed.
“Hitmonlee use high jump kick!” ordered Noah.
Drake prepared his attack but as soon as opened his maw, Hitmonlee had already kicked it closed and Drake spun to the ground.
“Drake!” roared Draco entering the arena and pulling Drake out of the sand where he was buried. The pokémon was fainted.
“Firegon is not able to continue, the match goes for Hitmonlee!”
“Well done my friend, well done” cheered Noah while Draco, with the help of Lucian, dragged Drake out of the field.
“You did well Drake, you did pretty well” said Draco petting his defeated partner. Drake seemed to be sad but when Draco smiled he cheered up “C’mon, it’s not over yet, and you won a big reward for your effort.”
Drake cheered hearing that. He already had in mind what he wanted. Lucian looked at him and smiled.
“I’ll take care from now” said Lucian and entered the field.
“Be careful Lucian!” warned Draco.
“The third round will start now!”
“Hitmonlee use blaze kick!” ordered Noah.
“Dodge and use psychic!” ordered back Draco.
Hitmonlee kicked hard and Lucian dodged making the feet of the other pokémon crush another rock of the field. Immediately Lucian answered the attack lifting Hitmonlee and slamming him in the sand.
“Come on Hitmonlee, you can beat him!” shouted Noah and Hitmonlee stood up again.
“Lucian use dragon pulse!” ordered Draco and Lucian acted in less than a second.
Lucian shot the pulse and impacted it directly against Hitmonlee who fell on his knees.
“Don’t give up Hitmonlee!” cheered Noah and the whole pack of furs behind him repeated it like a mantra.
Hitmonlee stood up again and got ready.
“Well done! Now use bulk up!” ordered Noah.
“Lucian, answer that with aura sphere!” shouted Draco.
Hitmonlee started to focus concentrating his physical power and Lucian shot the aura sphere right against him. A cloud of dust covered the place and Lucian remained over a rock having a good look of the battlefield.
“Hitmonlee use high jump kick!” ordered Noah.
From behind Lucian, Hitmonlee appeared and impacted a powerful kick against Lucian smacking him down and burying him in the sand.
“LUCIAN!” shouted Draco but before he could put a paw in the arena Lucian roared.
“I’m fine!” said Lucian standing up losing a bit his balance from time to time “I can…”
“No you can’t for the moment… come back!” ordered Draco and Noah smiled.
“Well done kid” nodded Noah “A fine trainer always know when to retreat.”
Those words hurt Lucian’s pride as he walked away passing next to Hitmonlee who only said to him “Don’t push yourself that hard”. Lucian stood next to Draco and he rubbed his back making the Lucario make a grimace of pain.
“I told you…” said Draco.
“Galapagus will not hear you” said Lucian “All we can do if we don’t wanna lose is to hold on to the tiny beam of hope that are my psychic powers.”
“Lucian, I’m sure that once Galapagus sees where he is, he will help” said Draco.
“Try and let’s see what happens” said Lucian sitting down and relaxing his body so he could restore some energy before Galapagus ignores completely Draco’s orders.
“Go Galapagus!” said Draco and Katy in her seat gasped.
“Draco he won’t listen to you!” shouted the lynx girl.
“I’m counting with his fighting desire” smiled Draco while Galapagus was released.
Galapagus was into his carapace and the silence invaded the Gym.
“Is he…” started the judge.
“Yes, he will fight, he only needs some encouragement” said Draco.
“Ok then… the fourth match will begin now!” shouted the judge.
“Hitmonlee use low sweep!” ordered Noah and Hitmonlee impacted directly on Galapagus who spun in his place.
“C’mon galapagus won’t you do something?!” roared Draco watching his pokémon being kicked.
Noah repeated his order and Hitmonlee attacked again and again until Galapagus went out pushing Hitmonlee and attacked him with a hydropump that smacked the fighting pokémon against a rock leaving him KO.
“Hitmonlee cannot continue, the match goes for Carracosta!”
“Well, I’m surprised a Rock type pokémon like him managed to endure such a punishment” said Noah “But that won’t be useful with the next friend I have… Go Lucario!”
Lucian’s eats twitched as he saw the female Lucario standing in the field ready to fight.
“This time it won’t be that easy!” warned Noah.
“Draco, that’s the pokémon that defeated my two in less than a minute!” warned Katy.
“Thanks Katy!” said Draco and looked at the Lucario. He knew all about lucarios and their attacks. All what they could learn and he knew he was in disadvantage.
“Galapagus come back!” ordered Draco and Galapagus returned. He looked at Lucian “Think you can defeat her?”
“I’ll do my best!” nodded Lucian. Being one of his species made the things easier.
Lucian entered the arena again and waited for the beginning of the round.
“The fifth match will begin now!”
“Lucario use aura sphere!” ordered Noah.
“Lucian dodge and answer with aura sphere too!” counter ordered Draco.
Noah’s Lucario shot his aura sphere and Lucian dodged panting a bit after he shot his own. The female Lucario received the attack but didn’t take much damage. She ran to Lucian and in that moment Noah ordered her to use close combat. She nodded and started to punch and kick at Lucian who defended the best he could fighting back.
The female Lucario managed to impact a kick on Lucian’s side making him fall to his knees.
“Finish him with aura sphere Lucario!” ordered Noah.
“Lucian use psychic to move yourself from there!” ordered Draco and Lucian reacted fast again making an impulse that shot him over a rock.
Lucian stood again and panted looking at the female Lucario who hadn’t sweet a bit.
“T-this is too much…” panted Lucian.
“Lucian can you keep going?” asked Draco.
“YES!” roared Lucian.
“We’ll see about that” smiled Noah “Lucario use attract!”
“Wait what?!” shouted Draco and Lucian at the same time.
The female Lucario winked an eye in a cute sexy pose and a ring of hearts impacted Lucian making him fall to his knees eyes closed.
“Oh no… please no…” murmured Draco feeling his heart breaking. But then…
Lucian raised his head looking everywhere, the attack didn’t had effect on him.
“What? Well, that’s a tomboy female Lucario you have there, boy” laughed Noah “I’d have swear it was a male”
“It’s because I’m a male!” roared Lucario blushing as hard that it was visible over his fur.
All the presents remained blank while Lucian and Draco blushed furiously.
“I-I have someone I love too much like to fall for that attract trick” said Lucian jumping down from the rock and standing in front of the female Lucario “Now shall we finish this?”
“Ok, ok” said Noah confused and the judge resumed the battle.
Lucian attacked the Female Lucario with aura sphere as ordered by Draco while the female Lucario did the same. Draco ordered Lucian to go all out against her and use aura sphere as fast as he could. Lucian attacked and impacted with his aura sphere all over the female Lucario raising a curtain of dust.
“Now Lucian use aura sphere at max power!” ordered Draco and Lucian obeyed.
The huge aura sphere impacted directly on the female Lucario leaving her KO.
“Noah’s Lucario cannot continue, all his three pokémon are fainted! The winner is DRACO FROM KOMEO TOWN!”
Draco cheered out loud just like Katy and her pokémon. the wolgon ran to Lucian hugging him tenderly so he wouldn’t hurt him and Lucian answered the hug back. Draco smiled at him and Lucian smiled too.
“We did it!” said Lucian.
“YES WE ALL DID!” said Draco calling with his hand at Drake who seemed to be blue from the scene.
The dragon smiled and ran to them hugging them too.
“You did quite well Kid” smiled Noah as the judge approached to them with a metallic box “You deserve this kiddo” Noah opened the box and in cushioned velvet pillow was resting the Brawl badge. A brown badge with triangles carved on it and an “impact” symbol in the middle.
“Wow! My second League badge!” cheered Draco taking it and placing it in the worn out badge case he now treasured.
“Wait a minute… I know that badge case!” said Noah smiling “It reminds me of a dirty little runt who was always saying he would beat all the gym leaders and make his way to be champion… and in the end… he did it but declined the offering and turned into the fine Gym leader we all know as Draco.”
“Yes, he gave it to me after my battle with Sandra” smiled Draco “Draco is my hero and model of being. I wanna be as strong as him and of course, be a gym leader like him. Being the champion is ok, but help the other trainers to go thru the righteous path with their pokémon is way better!”
“I like your style kid” smiled Noah and patted his back with all his might making Draco fall to the ground.
“Woah!” exclaimed Draco who was saved by Lucian “Thanks Dar-… Lucian”
The rest ignored the obvious comment and just let it slip as they cheered Draco for his win against Noah. After that, Katy said that she would come the next day to challenge Noah again, and the panda said that he would be waiting for her.
Draco, Drake, Lucian, Katy and her pokémon returned to the pokémon center and went right to the recovery part for Draco’s partners. Even Galapagus who, despite the fact he was angry at Draco, thanked the medical attention. After that, Katy went out with Draco and company to train again. between the wild pokémon and one or two battles against Draco, she were improving little by little.
From the shade formed in the rocky wall of Wellspring cave, Franky was looking at the place where Draco and the little lynx girl were training. He bit his lower lip with his fangs and clenched his fist around the binoculars.
“Stop sulking about that kid” said a Female voice “You’ll hurt yourself if you keep acting like a spoiled little brat.
“You say that because you haven’t been defeated by him twice!” roared Franky turning around. Behind him was standing a seductive looking robin with clothes similar to his. But hers was a tight uniform with one leg free and a nice opening in the chest revealing part of her bust.
“You are pathetic thinking that way” sighed the robin.
“You’ll see when you fight against him Lunny” said Franky.
“I don’t think they could beat me” said Lunny “Even though he has fighting and fire pokémon. Shiftry and Absol are powerful like to overcome that challenge.”
“Keep thinking like that. When you lose I’ll laugh at you” mocked Franky.
“Might I remind you who has lost twice against him?” smiled Lunny “’Sides, I’m willing to use my new pokémon in that battle.”
“New pokémon?” asked Franky “Boss gave you one more?”
“Who said I got it from the boss?” asked Lunny “This boy had a nice Rampardos… I just took it away.”
“A Rampardos?” asked Franky “It seems like it might be useful against that Firegon. But he still has the Lucario.”
“And don’t forget the Carracosta” said thoughtful Lunny “I might as well find another powerful pokémon… like…” she took the binoculars and smiled “Like a fine Reptyst maybe?”
“She is a friend of that boy” snickered Franky “You’ll only get a beating down if you steal that girl’s pokémon.”
“I’ll take the risk” said Lunny as she started to climb down the rocky wall.
“Hey wait!” roared Franky running towards her “You are a Vice leader below me! You cannot take lead on me!”
Both Vice leaders climbed down and started to prepare things for next day. And Lunny for sure desired to get her hands on that Reptyst. But first she wanted to see her development in the fight against Clashton’s Gym leader. Then she will decide if that pokémon was worthy or not.
First... sorry for the delay on this. I should have submited it more than a month ago... but here it is! the seventh chapter of Soaring Earth! (I've 12 so far).
