It's a shame it didn't work out the way you'd hoped, but it's still a cute icon and I do like the rather contemplative feel it has with her back turned to the viewer and the feeling of her looking out over a body of water. The detail on her hair is really pretty, too, and I like the brown jacket. It would make an interesting icon, too, even if it doesn't convey the right melancholy mood. You almost never see icons that don't show the character's face.
