This is a very special piece of art, as I made it specifically to be used (and animated!) for the digital release of a tabletop card game called Tanto Cuore! I backed the game on Kickstarter, knowing it was a safe backer project since it was a big company developing this, and there was an open invitation for creators to submit art assets and voice lines. I went with art, of course :p The game is a deck builder, similar to Dominion, but everything is anime maid themed, meaning I automatically like it more. When a player finishes a turn, a little "sweeper maid" goes across the screen and sweeps up the cards from the active play area, and this is the one I made for that! Since the team has to animate the drawing, I had to kind of chop her up a bit into animatable pieces, hence all the bits.
As for the maid herself, I wanted to choose a style that is underrepresented in the game art. So this maid does not represent my typical favorite style, and was a bit of a fun challenge. I went for 16th~18th centure European maid attire, with some liberties, based on this historical fashion model and the art she used. The broom is also accurate to the time period, as much as I could figure out anyways. I really enjoyed doing this project, and every time I see my art go across the screen while I play, I smile a bit in satisfaction~

Do you mean 17th century? At the earliest, and definitely in the final decades. This doesn't look like fashion from the 1500s, but maybe I'm wrong, though the link you based it on says in the tags "18th century", which sounds about right.

That's why I wrote in the description that it was between 16th and 18th. The link in the description says 18th, but also tags it as 16th, and in my research I found this style of uniform inconsistently mentioned in multiple centuries. Fashion history is a bit vague unless you really do deep research with reputable sources that I wasn't going to hone in on for a fun anime maid project.
