I hope they will also consider rewriting / updating his criminal record according to the new evidence.
davidjohnson
3 years, 3 months ago
What new evidence? As far as I remember, there's no proof about his innocence besides his words. Of course, they can get in contact with the judge and his old lawyer (if they're still alive), but still are they goibg to do something about reparations or going after the false rape victim?
sheparddog762mm

They also have his friend I can't remember what her name is to cooperate the story and I'm not sure if this new group they're with operates off the innocential proven guilty system as none of the issues so far have stated their constitution or anything

Theoretically they could probably drop a search party down to one of the local courthouses and check through records for suspicious documents and to verify the validity of evidence used in the case so they could declare a mistrial
DZAladan

Well, in the previous page, Krolikova stated explicitly that Officer Yefimovich confirmed the veracity of his story with her powers.
So, as far as they are concerned, I think they technically have evidence.
davidjohnson
3 years, 3 months ago
Really? What power? As far as I know, she have ilussion powers. If she can read memories and can share these without adulterations, then I guess I can understand that it can be used as proof.

Not trying to be the spoiljoy, just wanted to understand how did they confirmed his version.

idk on how retaking old cases works, but as far as i know they had all the evidence to declare him innocent, and i mean like real evidence, the witnesses, the security cameras; it was just the blackmail to the judge that declare him guilty and later on the lawyer left him after all the negativity that it's happening to him due to just helping him.

if they still have those evidence and can retake them they will find out all the truth.

Psychic powers, for fuck's sake. It was just said.
Dshadow14

There was a ton of evidence toward his innocence, he was only convicted because the judge was blackmailed.
damntohell0
3 years, 3 months ago
the judge is a pussy for being blackmailed so easily. i doubt his family was gonna actually get hurt, it was probably just an empty threat. their are 3 people who i want to see destroyed by alieens lies being revealed around the world. alieen herself, the judge, and the guy who castrated zaggy in prison.

though if im being honest, the judge probably killed himself out of guilt for what he did the zaggy. god i want him cleared in his home country so much, and for there to be a way to fix his injuries.

What gets me is they are very determined to make him the way they want him to be, so he fits their society.

Uhhh... Go back page 1 of this chapter and read the whole thing. You Skipping the bulk of the chapter is the only way I can imagine that you are this stupid. They're not trying to force him to be something he's not, they're trying to help him.

On Pages 8-10, we see that his Gynophobia is to the point where he commits self-harm when surprised by a woman interrogator.

On Page 19 we see that his face get mutilated and his dick and balls cut off by prison inmates that believed he was a Rapist!

What in the fucking Hell makes you think that they are trying make him something he's not?
Dagnarus
3 years, 3 months ago
Thanks for attacking me, no disrespect intended, was a simpke statement, because as far as i am aware, i havent seen him ask for help or to be fixed. Infact at a point he enjoyed the freedoms his new body allowed him.

Im just making an observation that these people seem absolutely set on changing him so that he fits their criteria to fit in their society, which also seems to be an overarching idea in this comic.
Again, just an observation.

I'll just be honest. I can not see where you're getting this from.
Repstar

They just see a "broken" person and deemed it their task to fix this person without actually asking the person if they want to be fixed. That is what the other commenter means, it's something our own society also does a lot, often when i tell people about my autism they assume i want it "fixed" so that i can function on a "normal" level by THEIR standards. I'm perfectly fine with how i am, i am happy with how my life goes and even though i dont function on a level that society expects of people that doesnt matter. I dont need any "fixing"
QueenSaryala

Except you don't have nanites that force your body to retain a disfiguring injury that you didn't want in the first place. One that he actively kept covered up for the sake of renting to appear normal. Plus, his involuntary reaction poses a danger, and he shows that he doesn't want to be that way. It doesn't take much to justify that helping him over come those involuntary reactions will help him in the long run.
Repstar
3 years, 3 months ago
It would be better for him probably, but as long as they ASSUME he wants it instead of actually asking if he wants it they are in the wrong. They dont get to decide on his needs or wants, he's a sentient being that has the right over their own body and mental health. Without his permission to the help the best they could do is keep society safe by isolating him and prevent possible triggering situations
QueenSaryala
3 years, 3 months ago
They literally showed how he involuntarily hurt himself out of psychological desperation to prove that he wouldn't touch her. He clearly doesn't want to have that keep happening because it hurts him psychologically. Plus, in an earlier page, they outright say that they tried to heal his injuries and restore them, only for the nanites to revert them back to the way they were. So Ziggy is fully aware that there trying to find a way to restore what he lost. If he didn't want to have those things fixed, that would have been the time for him to say so. But clearly, he let them try. Which means he's open to letting them find a way to fix his injuries.

So let me pose this, who is the one assuming what he wants? Because it seems you yourself are assuming he doesn't want to be fixed. As you said you were comfortable with yourself how you are, and are projecting what you want onto Ziggy. So you are the one assuming.

Lastly, I can understand the assumption that they have some ulterior motive. But they've yet to actually show it, and everything they've done thus far hasn't been anything less than trying to do what is beneficial.

Plus, this entire board room meeting is private, with Ziggy or anyone associates with him absent. So what reason would they have to not openly talk about what they'd really plan for him if they have not so just reasons. You'd think that they'd actually drop any idea that they're helping him and just outright say "it's for the betterment of the people for him to be normal" or something along those lines rather than entirely focus on Ziggy's welfare as the topic.

Also, isolate him? Basically put him in another jail and forced to not be with other people? You know that is a very not ideal situation, right?
Repstar
3 years, 3 months ago
Isolating him would would indeed not be the ideal situation, i'm not saying it is, i'm saying that IF he would not agree to their fixing that would be the only solution left to them to not endanger society or himself.
He hurt himself cause he was put in a situation that triggered him, without the trigger there would have been no problem, 90% of mental health fixing is just avoiding triggers and learning better ways to deal with them if they are unavoidable, since for most stuff there is no cure.
As for the earlier attempts at healing, at that point he could not give informed consent cause he did not even understand what was going on, he just let them experiment cause he learned from earlier traumas that just getting it over with and co-operating is easier and the nanites would just fix him if they hurt him.
I am not assuming anything about what he wants or needs, i am working with the information as it is directly presented at that information is that there has been no clear consent given to anything they are doing or discussing in this page. And even if consent was given the question remains if he's able to give proper informed consent due to the mental state he's developed by being an involuntary test subject before.
I also do not assume they have ultirior motive beyond making sure society and him stay safe, i just dont agree with the method they go about it by seemingly without consent just assuming he wants to be fixed instead of first seeing if they can work around the problems he has instead.
QueenSaryala
3 years, 3 months ago
The problem is that you ARE assuming. Because we haven't seen an explicit "yes or no" from Ziggy. You say you aren't assuming, but you're immediately on the "they're wrong for doing this" side, yet you've already explained that we haven't actually seen Ziggy's side in this.

So instead of taking a side, you should be in the middle, and waiting to see what Ziggy's actual opinion is, rather than going ahead and saying that they shouldn't be doing what they're doing. Because by doing that, you ARE assuming.

Also, I'd like to return to the point I made about Ziggy having the opportunity to say no. He opted for the experiment to get the nanites originally because he had an incentive of a shorter jail sentence, only to then find out what the experiment entailed, and by the time he was in there, he couldn't do anything. he was tied to the chair, his muzzle bound. he couldn't just "put up with it" by choice. And in their attempts to heal him, they clearly didn't have him restrained or muzzled when they started the interview, where it was clear that is where they had also attempted to heal his injuries. unrestrained, and unmuzzled. If he expressed any desire to not try, he would have. Which again, means you're assuming that it was just them experimenting on him while he just "waits and puts up with it."
Dagnarus
3 years, 3 months ago
Exactly. He also wouldnt need "fixing" in the first place if the legal system wasnt also broken.
QueenSaryala
3 years, 3 months ago
I'm not sure either. The things they're trying to "change" is his negative reaction he had to being along near a woman. Which absolutely would cause distress if not done anything about.

The other guy's argument would be akin to a person who knowingly has a pet who tries to attack people, but is allowed to bring that animal to public spaces at the risk of them attacking other people. There are reasons behind behavior treatments beyond just confirming someone to societal standards. Ziggy's psychological reaction puts himself and others into potential danger. Even if he himself doesn't suffer permanent physical harm, it just reinforces that involuntary reaction if left untreated.

As for their suggestion to give him prosthesis, he's shown no inclination that he wants to keep his scarred injuries. He's forced to keep them without his choice. And coveres them up any way, so he already expresses that he wold prefer to appear normal.

its good they trying to help him but it is a shame they cant make them work and still heal him. i picture hes basically immortal while they are active would be a shame to lose that ability. as they are now though they are a hindrance but kept him alive this whole time to help his friend also... i want to hug the adapter its so cute
davidjohnson

They actually want to help but they want to be sure it'll work 100% without having the risk of death. They can't just shoot in the dark and hope to hit the target.

i hope he gets to keep his ability as well as be fully restored but worried they are like this because the scars and such are considered his default state. sorry i cant word what i ment to well xD
davidjohnson

No worries.

And I think he won't keep the healing ability since is not his; it's nanobotics's power.

Always enjoying more of this comic of yours. The Azulians are so cute! <3

Judging by the way everybody's commenting though, you might want to have them talk to Zaggy and Rora about it. I imagine they talked about it offscreen already, in order for Dr. Sofopoulous to even have any input, but people keep thinking they're just assuming what Zaggy will want.

Hah, I hope you don't mind a second reply DrJavi! I just wanted to say thanks for enduring your fans. You have a lot of angry commenters! Thanks again for doing such a great series as well. Your art and stories are so good!

Thank you very much. :) I'm glad you enjoy them.

I have no idea what got into my readers lately tho. This is just a story, there is no reason to fight. We can all debate politely.

If Aileen is revealed to be alive and is living there, she should be kicked out. Also, so every method to repair his body is useless? Makes them all look pathetic

Hi there! What your describing, in writing terms, is called drama. If the protagonists can wave their hand and fix all the problems... there is nothing interesting going on. It's why no one wants to read stories about a guy mopping a floor. It's so common place and easy to do, no one cares.
InkTheseNuts

So he won't get his scars healed, huh? Damm. Glas they try to at least him help somehow.
davidjohnson
3 years, 3 months ago
They need to find a way to get rid of the nanobotics to stop them to reset their healing back to his scars.

Once done, the healing will be permanent.
InkTheseNuts

That is the thing. I hope they even find one which is 100% safe or at least possible.
Kalibran

There’s always the possibility he doesn’t want or care to have the physical damage healed.
davidjohnson
3 years, 3 months ago
Oh sure. He does want to use a mask to hide his scar for the rest of his life, to have glowing eyes resulted in a defected experiment, and a mutilated genitalia he gained against his will, besides the chance he can have his body back the way it was before all these happened.

If so, we shouldn't find ways to help people that lost an arm or a leg because "they didn't consent"? Because some people find it "fine" to live without an arm or a leg, or even both?

What the hell?
Kalibran
3 years, 3 months ago
Alright… you cranked that to 11 just so incredibly hard. I’d try to explain myself, but you’ve already drawn such horrible conclusions out of the blue. Nothing I suggested merited this response.

It seems to me the people he cares about most in life fulfill him regardless of his body. Not everyone is suffering in the way you think just because they’re visibly hurt. And not every suggestion to leave well enough alone is the words of satan himself. Jesus, dude.

This story is so beautiful in some very personal ways to me. Such a society is truly a dream. <3

Aww, I missed the updates to this story due to being away.  I'm interested to see how they help with treating Zaggy, first for his psychological issues and then maybe, just maybe, reverse-engineering the technology that constantly heals his body to an undesired default state.  It is difficult when you can't do any kind of surgery because any incisions just instantly self-seal.  Can't get a tissue sample either because, as we've seen, anything that's 'detached' from the body instantly disintegrates and is used to regenerate what's missing.
