Yes, I drew Jesus (this isn't the first time), and yes I'm a Christian ...and, no, I'm not going to debate or argue with anyone (I've read and heard it all before, to do so from you wouldn't make any difference). :3
And, yes, I hate this drawing, too, mostly because I cannot draw in this style---AT ALL! XD
Anyway, this is Varga Studio's interpretation of Jesus Christ, from their 'Animated World Faiths' library (the series covers many bases, not just Christian ones).
There's always this temptation to depict Christ in the traditional Heinrich Hofmann style ...and said temptation is seldom resisted, hence I find the Varga Studio Christ so appealing. :3
As for the pencil...
Typical, late 1940's or early 1950's ad pencil, albeit this one features one of those Ad-Tips I like so much. Unlike many Ad-Tips, this one doesn't boast an ad, rather it displays a drawing of Christ ...in Heinrich Hofmann's style. ^^
The barrel of the pencil shows an ad for Bartlett's Funeral Home, which is still in business. The pencil also carries the well-known verse of John 3:16 on its barrel,
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life"
Personally, I'd have chosen this one, given this pencil (originally) was given away by a funeral home,
"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him" - 1st Thessalonians 14:13-14
Of course, that might be too long, but could be abridged to,
Very interesting artstyle! I almost mistook it for Klasky-Csupo! And the series looks like they're from the same company that made the Testament: The Bible in Animation series <:)

NGL, I could do a you-style review on this. I mean first of all, your intro song doesn't rhyme! C'mon people, that's basic cartooning right there! Second up, I was hoping for much more bible-epicness than I got. Some episodes were just recounting parables. I get they're gonna have a Jesus focus here, but maaaaaan so much wasted opportunity.

I'll eventually make an ACO of one of 'The Flying House' characters; I'll go into more detail there insofar as my opinion on the series, but suffice it to say I like it in general (but, I agree, it's not as thorough as 'Super Book').
I won't entirely disagree; I like both series. :3 I'll eventually make an ACO of one of 'The Flying
This is less about the drawing and more to say that I'd never heard of the Animated World Faiths series. I've always been really fascinated with these international cartoons adapting tales of folklore, fiction or religion from all over the world (like Testament: The Bible in Animation, Shakespeare: The Animated Tales, or Animated Tales of the World), so it's really cool finding out about another series in that vein. I'm gonna give them a look in the future, so thanks for that! :)
