War takes, never gives. It takes land, money, resources, family... and friends. Many don't want to fight, but in the end, few have the choice. The Nowhere Kids were children without a choice. Caught between two sides in a war not of their own making, they could only do what was within their power. They fought for what they thought was right. Most didn't return. Thomas would carry the weight of this for the rest of his life. If he'd only been a bit faster... a bit stronger, maybe his friends wouldn't be memoralized here.

At the moment, no. Thomas exists in his own world, separate from our real one. Think along the lines of the Marvel or DC universes. I'm still in the process of fleshing out details, but this events surrounding this are pretty much set in stone.
