For Mother's Day 2005, I drew this image and transferred it to two stove rangetop burner covers. Naturally, Mom loved them. Dad called them 'beautiful', and he doesn't use that word very often.
I've occasionally noodled about with the idea of redoing this piece so it can be painted onto trivets for sale to people, sort of like expensive (yet useful in the kitchen) prints. Other pictures would have to be drawn up so this wouldn't be the only one floating around if this idea takes off. (For example, the poodle chef stares stoically up at two slices of toast embedded in the ceiling over a toaster.) Plus, I'd also have to be motivated enough to want to deal with people and get them to want to buy the things. :(
