Last night I found an old English class film I watched as a kid. Back from the year 1991!!!
This movie called MOTORAMA is very surreal at times. Basically a 10 year old boy runs away from an abusive home, steals a car and grabs all his piggybank money, and hits the road. The kid goes through hell, one bad event after another. He learns about a rigged lottery where all he has to do is get enough MOTORAMA cards to complete a set, for a chance to win a LOT of money, and his runaway life becomes an obsession with winning.
He loses an eye after getting caught stealing gas, and bikers force tattoos on his arm after he loses to a rigged arm wrestling match for money.
Here I've drawn Aiden as the character from the movie, after the effects from the school of hard knocks.
MOTORAMA: a great movie if you like obscure films with a David Lynch kind of feel to it.
