This is what is depicted as the unincorporated community of Duran, New Mexico back in 1960 in my story, Clarence Coyote and Project Courier. The view is from standing at the intersection of Highway 54 and Route 3, looking west down Route 3.
The 2nd right past the tracks is Cedar Street, which is the street Al, Marge and the cubs live on.
The 1st right is West Street.
That brown stone building near the railroad tracks by the way is an IRL building, along with where it's located.
The small building in the background where Route 3 curves to the left is also an IRL building.
Route 3 eventually goes north toward Encino.

In picture #2 is a meteor racing through the sky. Though it looks close, it is probably about 30 miles or more away.

These days with light pollution in the US you don't see skies like this so much.

You still can. Either you have travel out to a place far from any city, or be living in a place far from any city.

Yeah, should've said it like that!
