Gwen's having a devil of a time with this bug. Maybe it's in the script, or the animation stack, or the math- the only thing she knows is that it's already so late, she might as well finish the job.

God damn this was tough. Working in thin lines, doing technical drawing, perspective, palette limitation... it was a big lift, but I did it! I'm feeling real good about managing to capture the PC-98 aesthetic, and I hope those of you who also like it will love this too~

Alternate versions have animation!

I feel her pain on that one, especially whenever an update takes forever to do its thing and you just want to sleep or do something else.

As a software engineer...I know that feel.  Hang in there, Gwen!

I'd legit use this as my wallpaper if it was large enough.

i feel pain for a different reason, that screen is gonna ruin her eyes, she'll need inch thick glasses within a year... speaking from experience.

I remember hearing that as a kid too, but it turns out to be a myth. High contrast can produce eye strain, but it has no bearing on whether or not you'll need glasses later in life- as far as we can tell it's almost purely up to genetics.

If I remember right, it was actually true of VERY early CRTs that lacked proper filtering--the charged particles that went through the phosphor could make it to your eyes and cause damage if you were close enough for long enough... but is entirely a myth when applied to CRTs manufactured later than about the 1950's, and ridiculous when applied to modern flatscreens which never emitted that kind of radiation.

genetics turn you from far sighted to normal to near sighted? dangit if that's true i'm gonna be blind as a bat in time.

Your eyes changed shape as you age. My father used to be horribly near-sighted, but now his vision is actually fine.

I'd hoped you in particular would be tickled by it- glad you like it. :>
I wouldn't mind doing it again if you wanted something similar sometime, should the idea be good enough.

The idea is amazing and I absolutely want that sometime soon.

For me, there's something endlessly endearing about dithered pictures. I'm sure it's almost 90% nostalgia, but there's also something nice about a picture having a strong "texture" It gives it a distinct stylistic personality that stands out from most other pictures.
