Well I did promise I would do some kind of aftermath drawing of what would likely happen offscreen after the gold rush episode "Boom Town or Bust". I remember Mayor Bulloney trying one last offer at introducing a going out of business sale of used up supplies, mostly a gathering in what was left of the boom town washed away by Big Bucks as a plot to take everyone's gold. From the looks of it, I could almost feel as if Boot Hill could have been secretly feeling more than down on his luck, but suppose he was possibly at the lowest point where a strange thought and unexpected feeling began to creep in. And rather than follow Saddle Sore and the mayor back to Cow Town, he stays behind and will catch up later. As for that strange feeling, Boot Hill stares at the ruins of Boom Town, confused about everything and he doesn't know why. Long before, he used to think that living life as an outlaw and all these getting rich quick schemes would be different, or at least fun and satisfying, only it didn't turn out to be any of those things as he hoped it would be, getting no feelings of happiness where he is now. Another confusing feeling is wondering why the cowboys saved him, after every past scheme he was involved in. If he was a bad guy, why save him? The confusion is just too much right now, and there is nobody around for him to explain ask this.
