Khurdalfan (Khurd to his friends) is a turkey vulture senior citizen, and tax collector of the Dodgbernite royal family. When out on a task, he uses his decades of experience and encyclopedic knowledge of tax law to explain the situation- more acutely, the hopelessness of it- to subjects, while subtly instilling in them existential dread for the consequences of not paying up. He knows just how to not come across as the bad guy in a situation, and even perhaps come across as a friend. When diplomacy fails, he knows a fair bit about rear entry to enforce compliance.
Around 60, he is by far the eldest of the Tax Collector Trio, Farfarash, Makhlasim, and Khurdalfan.
Their names are very clumsily derived from Arabic. Khurdalfan's name is derived from "scrap" and "art"
