It's unlikely Chucky has had many sweet desserts like this in his life, so he destroyed that thing just like he destroyed Gwendolyn's holes. As a hedonist, she indulges in all of life's pleasures, culinary as well as sexual. All indulgences in moderation though, never so much that she'd cause harm to herself or her partner. If her new friendship with Chucky goes further, and it certainly will, she'll ensure he understands moderation. It didn't escape her attention how he devoured everything she served him.
Speaking to Chucky in Mossflorian was very personal to Gwendolyn. She has no one to share her birth-language with. The sad thing is, even if she traveled to Mossflower in their present time, she wouldn't be able to speak to or understand anyone. The Mossflorian language of her youth has long since evolved into something different. Imagine if you only knew a 12th century version of your own language.
