Okay so mainly just did these renders because I wanted to geek out about how I pulled off his eyes. I actually copied the OG mesh of the eyes, then re-textured them to add the reticle effect, then made it so that the 2 sets of eyes can be switched by using a shape-key. Essentially whenever the shape-key is active it pulls the 2nd set of eyes forward, and when its inactive it pushes them behind the original eyes, this way I can switch between the sets of eyes in an instant. It's nothing huge but I'm happy it works so well, especially since its my first try doing it.

I like the idea of using 2 set of eyes constantly rendered to ease of use.
Although there is some clipping in the first image.

Maybe it's worth having both set of eyes move when you press your key, (effectively switching places). I couldn't tell from your text if that's what you where already doing though.

Oh, and I can't wait to see him get some action. He seems eager for it ;)
