Background: Alaric was born a male wolf. He was born with light-gray fur, with patches of darker gray on his thighs, arms, around the back of his neck and tail and dark fur around his feet. He also had black fur running from his chest to his chin and the back of his ears, white hair and bright-green eyes. Alaric also had unique markings all over his body.
Alaric was born in the Streets of the Royal Capital of Wolfsbane to his mother Adelaide and his father Baltasar. Wolfsbane was a kingdom of Alchari where the Wolf King Eberhard l won a great victory against foreign invaders. The Old king created the Capital city of Wolfsbane and constructed the royal castle of Wolfsbane Keep in the mountains.
Alaric lived happily with his parents, but his father died from illness when he was just four years old. At the time, Adelaide worked as a handmaiden in the Wolfsbane Keep. After her husband died, she and Alaric moved into the Servants Holdfast. King Eberhard lll was a longtime friend to Baltasar and treated Adelaide and her son with kindness.
Alaric mainly spent his days looking around the keep. One day he found three wolves training in the courtyard. All three were male, one had black fur, the other brown and the third had white fur. The three wolfs were brothers. The Black wolf Kaegor, was the kings Royal Torturer, the white wolf Maeron was the Royal Blacksmith and the brown wolf Namerion was captain of the City Watch who trained new knights.
Alaric watched the wolves train and asked if they could teach him. With his mother’s blessing, Alaric began training under Maeron and Namerion. He learned how to fight with a sword and learned to forge weapons and armor. As he grew up, Alaric learned how to ride horseback, archery, swimming and knife throwing. Just one year after moving into the Holdfast, Alaric received surprising news that his mother Adelaide was going to be married to King Eberhard lll. The king showed great kindness to Adelaide and her son that they began to develop feelings and eventually fell in love.
Alaric became the Kings stepson and was named his Heir until Adelaide produced a son. Alaric had no real interest in the throne. When he was Six, Alaric met his new brother and the heir to the Throne, Eberhard. Adelaide soon produced three more children, another son they named Dagobert and two daughters, Dagmar and Imelda. Alaric loved his siblings and cared for each one of them.
By the time he was twelve, Alaric began training under Kaegor. He learned how to torture prisoners and took a liking to it. Alaric developed signs of aggression during his sword training, but it was due to hearing the screams and pleas from the tortured prisoners. He also disliked attending royal banquets, for he found them boring and hated wearing really fancy clothes.
Alaric began drawing designs for his own torture restraints and spent most days reading. He also trained his new brothers when they were old enough and was Knighted by the King at the age of 13. By the time he was 15, the king talked with Alaric about Marriage. King Eberhard lll arranged for his cousin, a female wolf named Nordica to marry Alaric. Alaric and Nordica had met each-other several times since they were kids and were about the same age. When they were 16, Alaric took Nordica to wife.
Alaric and Nordica had two sons, Nevin and Vilmos and a daughter Serilda. Alaric loved spending every moment with his family and did his best to act like a proper nobleman at banquets and parties. By the time he was 23, Alaric was appointed by the king to be the new Royal Treasurer. When training to be a blacksmith, Alaric counted all the coin that was made and kept records of all transactions. Alaric’s new position also granted him a seat on the Kings Council.
Alaric proved to be good as the new treasurer and saved the Crown thousands. The Torture restraints Alaric made were a unique Stone casket that covered the whole body. The casket had slots to hold the hands, feet and head in place and exposed. Alaric would yank out the prisoners nails and claws, punch, cut and whip them and pull their teeth out. He also designed a thick wooden stockade designed to lock the head and feet in place. He also invented a unique steel box that restrained the body inside while having a slot where the face would pop out.
Alaric was a skilled swordsman by the time he was an adult, but used a Greatsword. When his siblings and children’s Namedays came around, Alaric would Forge gifts for them such as daggers, pieces of armor or jewelry, including giving them books or gold. Alaric had many unique skills, but he proved to be a great son, husband and Father.
