That or I don't like drawing shoes (take your pick). Actually, shoes aren't the problem---it's bottomless characters who wear shoes that look off to me (think, 'the cast from PB&J Otter', or 'the characters from Sonic the Hedgehog'). Yoshi is among the very few characters with this look. ^^
Besides, why does Yoshi need shoes? Goomas don't exist in my world (because I haven't drawn any), so there are no nasty enemies to step on ...or step 'in', depending how hard you stomp (...ok, I'm thinking too hard). ^^
Anyway, this drawing of Yoshi was entirely freehanded---I didn't use any guidelines (which is rare for me).
So ...Jurassic Park pencil.
I was going to draw a LBT character with this, but have opted to use a different pencil for that (I'll get to it eventually). Yoshi seems close enough to a dinosaur, so ...it works (I guess?).
Either way, the best way to get this pencil off my desk was to feature it in a drawing (so, yeah). This ...is a nice pencil. The graphic is printed on---it's not a sticker. Kinda surprising given this pencil was fairly cheap when it was new (these were sold in packs of three, for $1.49 USD ...in 1993, of course).
I actually got this pencil free from eBay, after the set I purchased failed to arrive (after refunding me, the seller decided to send me a single one free of charge, after I explained what I wanted it for). ^^
The seller ...is a big fan of Jurassic Park. They are also into magic---they sell items like enchanted tree sticks. Interesting, but I'll pass (per my worldview, the only trustworthy power comes from God/Jesus). ^^
For myself, I like the first JP movie, but I greatly prefer the book (which I've read three times---I like it all except the ending, which is oddly mean-spirited). The Jurassic World film series ...is terrible, but it's of the entertaining sort (I've seen both films in theater).
Regarding Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island ...I've played and won both games (as a teenager, I could do anything!). The first game was packaged with my SNES. The second, I rented (I think it took two or three rentals for me to beat the game). I prefer SMW. ^^
As for the Mario animated series ...It's a bad that's hard to sit through, though I remember liking the Super Mario Bros. Super Show (the one with the live-action segments) as a kid. :3
