Background/History
Doex was once the beings known as One and Two. They were never very happy creatures, often lost and wayward as they made their way through life, with no purpose. Just trying to find shelter and food was an endeavor. One and Two rarely felt peace with one another... though, naturally over time, the fatigue of existing was taking it's toll on them. Their bodies reduced into a smaller, two legged form to conserve energy.
However, this wasn't really going to last. Like this, they were weaker and even more ill suited to living! They were getting into fights more frequently, deteriorating. It was around this time that they came to be owned by someone. This someone was very attuned to their struggles and capable of taking care of them.
Change was inevitable.. One night, their malleable forms "fell into" one another while sleeping, and they woke up fused. Thus, began the process of integrating bodies. It wasn't perfect, as, their contentious relationship was worsened by the shared form-- it was like their worst nightmare! But their owner realized actually, this could be progress. She then gifted them the collar they wear, to keep them together and remind them of her. With this gift, and symbol of their relationship with her.. they were able to be soothed. They did not want to harm the collar.
Over time, they culminated into a more unified being -- which is what Doex is.
Important note: One and Two never had names for themselves or each other, and did not change their names once they became Doex; they simply were named that by their owner.

World/Setting
a fantasy setting, where magic exists
Body
white and very maleable, smooth and velvet like in texture. soft, and not quite skin, cooler than flesh, no blood or bones within. comparable to clay.
the inner cavities can form a fascimile of organs, but is not very robust or functional. when consuming food or water, it all steadily pressed into the walls of the flesh and absorbed over time.
the most detailed body parts are the eyes, mouths, and teeth. the eyes warp in size and there can be multiple pupils in any of them. the teeth are usually uniform and triangle in shape, though more complex dentition can be formed, usually eratic. the tongues large and fat, and the saliva is completely like that of an organic creature's.
the paws are soft and rounded, or sharp and black, with no discernable details -- no pawpads. there are only 3 toes on any foot. the head can have little nub "horns" between the larger, cone shaped "ears", though theres usually only one set between one pair of ears.
