The Alt-Right aren't conservatives in any normal sense,
They're defined entirely by their opposition to the mainstream left
They call themselves Nazis or KKK ironically because they know these two racist hate groups (and literally no others) rile up the mainstream left into a cartoonish and frankly hilarious over-reaction of negativity. How can you over-react to how bad Nazis and the (Democrat) KKK are? They manage, somehow.
Basically, if the mainstream left were a bit less prone to pearl-clutching dramatic overreactions, these same people would go back to ironically pretending to be Satanists like they did in the 90s and early 2000s.
