Consistent pro-life stance:
- The unborn have a right to life, abortion is wrong
- The elderly and disabled have a right to life, euthanasia is wrong
- Victims of violent crime have a right to immediate self-preservation, weapons bans are wrong
- Successful murderers should be put to death because human lives are just that precious

Consistent pacifist stance:
- The unborn have a right to life, abortion is wrong
- The elderly and disabled have a right to life, euthanasia is wrong
- Victims of crime should never fight back with physical force and police should be prosecuted for accidentally killing a criminal resisting arrest
- Successful criminals should be indefinitely housed, fed, and entertained at the taxpayer's expense or maybe released after a few months/years because lawfully killing a violent repeat murderer/robber/rapist is as bad as actually murdering

The former is my stance, the latter is the strawman version of a pro-life stance that leftists try to argue against and call the former hypocritical. Typical leftist pro-death stances are, of course, only a mix of the worst aspects of both; favoring the killing off of the sick and elderly, favoring the killing of infants in the womb, favoring violent criminals killing people but opposing any use of force to deter or punish them.

Abortion:
I've always felt, "If there was a way to ask the baby, why not ask the baby how the baby feels about it?".
And to some of them, "Now that you've already been born years ago, would you have wanted to be among the aborted?"...Any volunteers?

Guns:
When several thugs armed with bats and blades kick the door down at 4 o'clock am, I hate to think the only defense against several violent men I've have would be my fists...And I can't retreat. My right hip joint has a lifelong injury I had since a month before I turned age 16. The best I can run is with a hobble.
I wasn't even eligible for military service at 18 because of it.

Police:
Now there's an issue that needs addressing...In many locations like California and Virginia, police will not protect you, but will arrest you if you are forced to protect yourself.
Then there are other places like in my home county in Arkansas where the police are not that way.
It's kind of a mixed bag, depending on where you are at.

Death penalty:
I'm pro for it. However, it should be applied only in cases where a capitol crime was extremely malice.
Those like Charles Manson, and if they ever could catch who killed Adam Walsh would have been good candidates for the death penalty upon conviction.
Someone who kills someone for cheating with their spouse, or for sexually attacking their kid, or a killing done out of loss of temper should carry a prison sentence, or other remedy and/or consideration, instead of death.  There are emanating circumstances to some homicides.

Yes to all of this. Particularly on guns: Firepower is the great equalizer between the weak and the strong, the fit and the unfit. A pistol in a purse is the best defense a woman could have against being mugged or raped by a significantly stronger man and the only hope of a singular person of any level of fitness to fend off multiple home invaders.

I don't have one, but have been looking into buying one lately because the world is headed in a very bad direction lately.

You might want to make that move before guns become hard to find.

One bit of satire I always use on that topic is the man in a wheelchair saying:
" "Gee how I wish I had a way of defending myself when those home invaders crashed my place ten years ago. If I had, I wouldn't be in this wheelchair today".

They already have become hard to obtain, which is why I didn't get one a few weeks ago. All the gun stores and online stores I can find don't have anything left in what I'm looking for (I just want a reliable 12 gauge).

Setting for something different would be better than facing dangerous times being voulnerable and defenseless.

I agree with the abortion one, and the suicide one, but not the other stuff.

My impression is that both sides worship death: The left worships death with abortion and suicide, and the right worships death with war, capitol punishment, and pricing sick people out of being able to afford medicine.

Capital Punishment is an affirmation of the value of life. That is, it is a firm statement that the life of innocents is so important that the life of the guilty is condemned by shedding it. It's not remotely inconsistent to call yourself pro-life and be in favor of executing traitors and murderers. Personally I'm all for extending this to child molesters and rapists as well, but with a stricter burden of proof since the latter in particular is rife with false accusations and false convictions in the modern day.

"Pricing sick people out of being able to afford medicine" is more of a leftist thing. Right wing de-regulation of markets and reduction of reliance on the insurance industry would make medicine more affordable, and most hospitals will treat even broke people in the hopes they might get paid back later; the number of people who default on their medical loans in turn raise the base prices of medical care.

Both sides are pro-war, sometimes justified but sometimes just for corporate kickbacks from the military industrial complex. Democrats will pretend to be against war when Republicans are in office but Republicans have the honesty not to claim to be anti-war as a general principle when Democrats are in office, even if they criticize the war being waged at the time.

No, quite fundamentally, as with all other issues, the Republicans are imperfect and the Democrats are just outright evil.
