During my disaster deployment, we had to ride in the back (to maintain as much distance as possible) and also had to ride with the windows down whenever possible. While drawing this, I was not sure if that would be the case in a pre-COVID situation, but I guess the rational for this is that he's a minor and thus the organization wouldn't want anything going on between an adult and a minor, no matter what gender. Or something. Make some silly excuse up.
