It's not a tradition, at least, I don't think it is, but it seems I draw a characters from 'Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer: the Movie' (RtRRtM) at least once around Christmas every year (I delete things---no sense looking, so just take my word).
This year's no exception, but at least I have something interesting to go with... RtRRtM stamps! :D
For those who don't know, I despise the Rankin-Bass Rudolph---the one with the dentist elf and the irritable Santa. For all its problems (and there are many!), the definitive Rudolph (for me) is the Goodtimes version. :3
And dear Lord did RtRRtM have one whale of a marketing campaign!
There were, of course, Christmas ornaments, figurines, kids-meal toys and so forth (the usual junk), but there were also some unusual items, such as these Tanzanian postage stamps.
And, yes, I have *the set, as well a couple of RtRRtM ties (a red and a black---guess what I'll be wearing at Christmas ...at home ...by myself ...drinking wine and singing 'Hard Candy Christmas' to myself).
*there are several stamp sets---the set I have is the 'postcard' version, but there are also sheets of six, which sport different pictures (I know of at least two different sheets, but there may be others).
Anyway, if my Slyly cartoon looks like Btrfyfx ...that's because Slyly inspired Fix's design (I don't believe in originality). ^^
