Chapter 18: The End

Dateline: January 14th 2001 C.E.

The freedom fighters made a full recovery by this point. Miles Tails Prower Named his Kibitz the following names as he also had an equal distribution of boys to girls; Fernando, Albert, Tinker, Slipknot, and for the girls Natalie, Jessica, Crystal, and Jasmine. As for Neko and Adam they remained bedridden still by this point Adam and Neko were in a Coma. Blaze was still with Adam feeling absolutely helpless to do anything for him. All she could do was watch as he struggled to hang on to the last bit of life he had. Neko was in no better straits it is a miracle he had survived the battle what with him being hit with his own Bazooka round burned by fire and zapped with a very powerful hate beam. Vanilla came into the room to comfort Blaze.

Vanilla said "Blaze... I am sorry I really am this is just so sad..."

Blaze sobbed "If he dies here all I will have are his children. If the people here hate them as much as they hated Adam before the spirit of the necromancer was released from him I fear they too will go down the same path Adam did and next time there would be no one who could stop it!"

Vanilla nodded and replied " That would be awful indeed. The Rabbis already took Isaac and gave him a proper Jewish Funeral. Apparently they would not even let us look at him saying it would be disrespectful to stare at that of which cannot look back at you. I offered them lots of flowers but they would not have it."

"Why not?" asked Blaze.

Vanilla "They said that it was customary that all Jews be buried in caskets of the same materials and clothes of the same materials as other Jews to symbolize that in death we are equal. They did however permit all people to place a rock at burial site instead as rocks are not lavish and would be an appropriate substitute for flowers. From what I saw there were millions of rocks on his tombstone so I am guessing there is no shortage of people who were touched by his sacrifice."

Blaze asked "And what will they do about Adam?"

Vanilla replied "Well given that his actions could have been his own or the spirit of the necromancer they are divided on whether to condemn him from the faith and deny him as a Jew or whether to instead view it as an act of demonic possession and thus he was innocent by reason of it and therefore an otherwise good Jew. In short he may get a proper burial should the worst happen or he might just be left to rot on the surface unless we do something."

Blaze said "That would be insult to injury given all he has been through. He had it hard enough without being possessed by that thing! And now they are going to make it worse by denying him a proper burial? I will not stand for it and I refuse to raise my children in that faith if this is how they treat their abused!"

Vanilla replied "Calm down Blaze they have all heard everything that has happened so far and need time to process it as we have. I have faith they too will see things as we do if we are patient."

Dateline: January 31st, 2001

The local Jewish population had finally decided the actions of Adam the Forsaken were not his own and declared he is indeed one of their victims. No sooner had they made the proclamation than the IV stopped registering a pulse from either Neko or Adam their spirits were ascending to the heavens. Adam and Neko spoke to each other as they rose up slowly in spirit.

"Well Adam kind of ironic that you would die on an IV considering that incident in the hospital when the spirit of the necromancer first took hold of you back in Covina eh?" said the spirit of Neko as he was floating into the heavens.
The spirit of Adam laughed and said "yeah imagine that I guess I did come full circle as far as ways to die even if it was not in the same hospital. It is even more full circle that the final battle took place where it all began. Possessed or not Karma makes no exceptions so I had this coming."

Blaze rushed in "Wait Adam Please do not go do not leave me and our kids!" she sobbed.

The Spirit of Adam Replied "Blaze I am sorry but I could not hold onto life anymore I really wanted to live on for you and the kids but... after all my trauma all my trials and all the stuff that happened because of me I am afraid I have no choice. I am just glad that I will be given a proper burial. Please take good care of them and make sure no one dares lay a hand on them so my past does not repeat itself. Lastly please take care of yourself and try to be happy with the gifts I have left for you that we call our children." He said before his spirit and Nekos disappeared from sight.

Three Days Later the Citizens of Mobius, Station Square and those who once stayed away from Covina and West Covina returned home knowing the cause of the disappearances was gone for good. Adams children who were not even a year old knew what happened and were crying with their Mom. Funeral services happened like a Jewish Funeral should for him and Neko had a regular non religious funeral separately. The tragic part was no one outside the Sonic Universe who was still alive knew who Neko was so only people from there mourned him at the funeral.

Adams Parents found out what happened and were so devastated they could not even bring themselves to come to the funeral. No one could blame them when their Son culled Covina even though possessed and besides that died not long after returning to the closest thing to normal he has ever been.

Sally gave a speech at the funeral choking back tears as she had even if only briefly knew how badly Adam wanted to change how badly he wanted to be the good kid he used to be. Sally Said "None of us have known Isaac, Neko, Kit Kit Kit Kat or Adam very long at all. Tragically still because under the influence of the necromancer spirit Adam had eaten Kit Kit and Kit Kat there was nothing to bury and thus they could not get a proper burial but... deep down I know Adam tried so hard to fight it to not be this monster we all saw him as for so long. I took him to my castle to punish him last Hanukkah that was my alibi but what I really wanted was to find out his intent in coming here for myself. What I found out makes it difficult for me to even speak it is so sad." She sobbed and clenched her fists in frustration.

"It is not fair all he wanted was a nice happy life like so many other children got but instead he was bullied by his sisters, his community and no one would help him! They even put him in a school for the mentally disturbed! He had no friends and nothing to live for but the material things he was given as gifts by parents." she cried. "If that were not bad enough possibly the most evil force in any universe took control of him! And now he has left behind eight sad children and a lover to boot. I believe I speak for anyone who cares about him when I ask that we please learn from what happened to him and do everything in our power to make sure his story is not repeated in his children or anyone else! That is all."

There was not a dry eye in the house after that speech and no one could really add anything to what she had poured her heart out to say.

Tails spoke at Nekos Funeral representing the few that knew him. "What can we say about Neko? He was inventive he was kind and well he did not seem to have any faults at all. He did however tell me before he had died that his obsession for tinkering with machines stemmed from the fact he was the second genius to be born in his family and all his parents wanted was a normal son that time. He vowed from that day forth that if he could not be the son they wanted then he would at least do all he could to make the world a better place as only he could. I am honored I got to know such an amazing person even if only for a short time. That is all." Miles Tails Prower shed a few tears of sympathy for him. That was how Nekos Funeral ended.

Adams children grew up to do wonderful things in life driven only by making their mom proud and not letting Adams death be for nothing. Despite their overwhelming success in life they never forgot to pay their respects to their father at least once a year.

The Sonic X and Classic Sonic characters did everything they could to be supportive and see to it no one had to suffer as Adam the Forsaken had. Long story short they succeeded and it would come to pass that their children would make children of their own and each would be better parents than the last by learning from the mistakes of previous generations.
