Physicology:
Brian Thomas Hunter is a Common North American Raccoon. Like most raccoons, Bri's most distinguishing visual characteristics are his distinctive face mask and his fluffy ring tail. His thick fur consists mostly of a soft lush undercoat. His fur is deep, soft and luxurious to the touch. The main body color of Bri is of a medium french gray. His cheeks, front of his neck flowing down his chest, belly and down to his lons features a light shade of that same french gray. The gloves and socks, the back of the ears, and face mask, the three rings on his tail are a Wrought Iron color. The inside of the ears are lined in white while the edges dividing the outside and inside of the ears matches the belly fur color. Bri’s sumptuous mahogany brown eyes give off his mischief. But gaze into those same brown eyes one will be mesmerized by soothing charm and a fiery passion. His stocky body with fat reserves, a feature that allows raccoons to live through the winter, makes him soft and cuddly.
But don’t let Bri’s high cuddle factor fool you. Raccoons like Bri are faster than their stocky appearances suggest, boasting surprisingly quick agility and can run at speeds of upto twice as fast as the fastest human runners.
Also Raccoons do wield a good amount of strength, durability, and stamina. This fact and a vast amount of wit, cunning, and intelligence is why many raccoons tend to opt for careers in the construction trades, heavy machine, and mechanics. Raccoons tend to view such lines of work as a good challenge to their strength and wit. Bri is no exception being that he loves the work he does at his Father’s landscaping business while working on his muscle car on the side.
When it comes to a sense of smell and touch, Bri has it in spades just like any raccoon. Also with the raccoon ability to hear sounds all the way up to 80 Khz, Bri’s hearing is profoundly sensitive to a point it is said he can hear sounds as faint as that made by an earthworm slithering in the ground.
Eye sight is on par with humans.
Raccoons including Bri feature anal glands that emit pheramones that communicates to other raccoons aspects such as state of health, identity for claiming territory, and sexual arousal.
Clothing:
Bri’s clothing is simple yet bold. He wears a bright purple basketball shirt emblazoned with a large yellow “1” on the front and back. He also wears a pair of light blue denim shorts.
Sexuallity and Sexual Orientation:
Bri is Homosexual. In junior high school Bri started to get hints of his sexuallity when despite insisting he was straight, he started having interests in his best friend Todd. Though he kept it to himself due to not being aware if Todd had similar feelings towards him or not.. Also Bri never really brought up the subject due to his Roman Catholic upbringing at the time. Eventually Bri left his religion. He was free to finally come to terms with his feelings. One the faithful night of Todd’s death, Bri was taking Todd to his apartment. While on the way, Bri finally divulged his feelings for Todd. Much to Bri’s elation Todd revealed himself to be gay and had feelings towards Bri but never devulged those feelings due to Bri’s religious upbringing. The two gave each other their first kisses before Todd got out of Bris car and went to his apartment. Sadly that would be the only exchange of a deeper love for one another Bri would experience as during the overnight Todd’s life would be taken by members of the Human Supremacist Organization.
Currently during his summer stays with Tamias, Bri does have fun flirting and even engaging in sexual activity with the chipmunk having grown fond of him for all the good things the Chipmunk has done to save him from going into a very bad place in life that he would otherwise not be able to return from. Likewise Tamias enjoys Bri’s irresistible raccoon charm and revels in the raccoon’s affection.
Physical Health:
There are no known health issues with Bri other than being slightly overweight, a common problem with raccoons. Doctors urg Bri to improve his diet while monitoring his blood cholesterol count and blood pressure. Distemper is a common illness that often breaks out into epidemic levels among raccoons, therefore Bri is strongly advised by healthcare providers to keep his vaccinations up to date when traveling between the Raccoon Nation of Procyon Lotor and the Chipmunk Kingdom.
Psychological Health:
Bri the raccoon, though bold and out going by nature, does have bouts of depression he contends with mainly due to the death of his best friend at the hands of the HSO. Bri wishes he could have revealed his feelings towards his best friend earlier so maybe he could have enjoyed loving him on a romantic level before Todd’s death. He faults himself for holding back until it was nearly too late, only revealing his feelings to Todd on the night of his death. This fact and the emotional trauma of Todd’s murder left some deep scars in Bri. Tamias the Chipmunk has been there to help Bri come to terms with his best friend's tragic demise and move on with his life.
Personality:
Bri the Raccoon has two sides to his personality. The outward side of him is sly, bold, conniving, and mischievous. He and his closest friend Todd were the two class clowns pulling pranks, when the opportunity arises. He also has defiance to those that try to pull the alpha authority card on him which would run him into friction with his parents and teachers. The flip side of Bri is his heart of gold. He is very caring to those he befriends. His sweet raccoon charm is down right irresistible as found out by Tamias the Chipmunk when the chipmunk took him in. Bri’s temper can be rather snappy, cutting down a person with an abrasive voice and harsh words. He also tends to stew in his juices for a while after an incident. However one actually has to go out of their way to provoke Bri’s Temper such as trangressing him or worse yet transgressing his friends and those he cares about.
Bri’s slyness and wit gives him an equally witty mouth that can make for laughter, shock, or when Bri is angry, can cut with sharp words.
One a more emotional level Bri tends to carry guilt sometimes to a fault. The biggest guilt he carries stems from the death of his closest friend Todd the Prairie Dog despite that situation was of no fault of his own. It is mainly due to being too shy to reveal his romantic feelings towards his best friend, only doing so on the night of his friend’s death. Tamias has been helping him with this flaw and helping him come to terms with what happened to Todd.
Though Bri tends to be a bit of a trouble maker, he is very much like his father in his work ethics and his mother in integrity. Bri can and does work and work hard at what he does. Bri, like most raccoons, believes that the only things a person has is their name and their word. That in mind Bri will stop at nothing to fulfill what he promises. Even when he had to serve his obligations with Tamias, he did everything to keep to his word, something that impressed the Chipmunk who highly values promises as sacred.
When it comes to love. Bri is an irresistible swooner. His charm, passion and gentle caresses with his dexterous raccoon hand paws combined with whispers of sweet nothings can easily make one’s heart melt. Not to mention that his soft thick luxurious fur and his stocky build give him an incredible snuggle and cuddle factor. Bri revels in making those in his romantic embrace feel good down to every vestige of their soul. They feel good, he feels good.
Hobbies:
There are three things Bri is into. To start off, he loves shooting off fireworks, being a central part of his pranks. He tends to buy and sell legally banned fireworks via underground means. M-80’s and M-100’s are common among Bri’s arsenal. Secondly, Bri loves to play guitar both of the electric and acoustic varieties as a means of meditation. Bri is very well versed in rock, blues, classical, and spanish guitar music. Bri owns and plays a collection of electric and acoustic instruments he lovingly maintains. But the one he cherishes most is an acoustic guitar he likes to call “The Monophonic Symphony Six String Orchestra” . It was on that instrument his father taught Bri to play. Ever sense, Bri has played that particular guitar in dedication to his father. Lastly but not least is muscle cars, with his 1970 Chevelle SS being his pride and joy.
Muscle Car:
Bri’s pride and joy is his old school muscle car, a 1970 Chevelle SS. The navy blue muscle car with two bold white racing stripes running from the hood to rear deck, features a 502 cubic inch big block crate motor under the hood, customized interior with upgraded digital gauges, custom build headers, Flow Master mufflers, 18” wheels in the front and 20’s in the back, and brembo brakes just to name a handful of the work done to the car. The car was the last project He and his best friend, Todd, did together before Todd’s tragic murder. To this day Bri lovingly takes care of the car and proudly drives it in dedication to his fallen friend.
Special Abilities:
As with Raccoons, Bri’s handpaws are extremely touch sensitive to a point Bri can fully analyze what an object is without using his other senses. In addition, Bri is empathic through his hands able to sense the emotions of others and resistual emotional energies in objects. For example Bri could sense fear in a person attempting to hide it simply by touching them. Bri often uses his empathic abilities to read Tamias’s emotions when flirting with him and adjust his advances on the chipmunk accordingly. In inanimate objects, Bri can sense the positive and negative residual emotional energies by touch. For example if Bri touches a child’s toy, he may experience joyful and happy feelings while on the flip side if he touches the wall of a prison he will shutter from the pain and despair of inmates past and present.
Religion:
Bri the Raccoon was baptized Roman Catholic. In his junior high school years, he was an Alter server assisting the bishop in the cathedral in Baton Rouge. However not long after he graduated High School, he ceased being active in the faith due to conflicts between the religion and the fact he discovered himself to be homosexual. However when Tamias, the Chieftain of Chipmunk Kind took Bri in, Bri converted to the Chipmunk faith of Tawanism making him one of the few non-chipmunks to actively practice the teachings of Hakooji and granted access to the powers of Tawa via a Synergy Crystal. To this day Bri serves as Tamias’s assistant during his summer stays with the Chieftain. Bri was ordained into the order of priesthood by Tamias himself so he would serve as an assistant celebrant with Tamias when the Chieftain holds the Bloodless Sacrifice every Sunday.
Back Story:
Bri the Raccoon, whose full name is Brian Thomas Hunter, was born to Thomas Hunter the owner of a small landscaping business and his wife Marry Hunter in the working class city of Mobile. Not too long after he was born, Thomas Hunter and Mary decided to move the family to Baton Rouge to take full advantage of the better schools for their only son and to further grow the family landscaping business.
When Bri was enrolled in elementary school, he met the Prairie Dog, Todd O’Keef. The two become best friends.. Both Todd and Bri were a bit on the trouble making side, mostly pulling pranks in school much to the segrin of faculty, the both of them were good in heart standing up for victims of bullying though. This was much the pattern through elementary school and junior high school.
Friendship began to grow beyond that of a normal friendship. Todd and Bri’s bonds were inseparable. One was rarely seen without the other. During their Junior high school years, both Todd and Bri began to have feelings for one another as hints of the sexual orientation began to surface during their respective puberties. However at the time they never revealed those feelings to one another due to Br’s Roman Catholic upbringing and Todd keeping his feelings to himself fearing putting the friendship in jeopardy.
When Bri and Todd entered high school, things got rough. It turned out that one of the bullies Todd and Bri put down in their final year in junior high school was the son of Ivan S Tremble , the high school principal. Ivan did everything to keep Todd and Bri separated by insisting they were put in different classes. Despite this Tod and Bri maintained their bond by hanging out during off school hours and social media. Frustrated by this work around, Ivan stepped up his game by giving detentions and other penalties to Todd and Bri for the most frivolous things.
Finally having had enough of the oppressive principal and his iron grip on them as well as upon the entire student body, Todd and Bri decided to put an end to Ivan’s heavy hand on them. Rumors had circulated that Tremble was a member of a far right wing organization known as the Human Supremacist Organization. Known as the HSO, this organization was an anti animal group hell bent on restoring human domination over the earth and putting animals back in their place as inferior to humanity.
While pulling a series of pranks to keep the principal distracted, Todd and Bri researched deep into Tremble and found all the evidence they needed to take him down once and for all. When they had what they needed they finally blew the whistle with one grand prank that spanned real life and cyberspace. On the dead of night before the last day of the Senior year, Todd and Bri plastered the hallways, principles offices, and school website, with plamplets that revealed that Tremble was indeed a member of the HSO and was assigned by the group to sabotage the school district in various ways to make the raccoons and other animals in attendance lose faith in the education system.
News of course quickly spread about the leaked information. The superintendent and school board swiftly acted by firing Tremble. Local and even national law enforcement began investigations as bigotry was a punishable offence in the Raccoon Nation of Proyeon Lotor.
Relieved and elated that they had done their deed and that Tremble was a sunk ship, the both of them looked forward to what life had in store for them. Fresh outta high school life was ripe with possibilities. Todd and Bri were set on working for Bri’s father in the landscaping business while going through college, and maybe taking it over, when Thomas Hunter retired. But Tremble was not done yet and for Bri, life would test him to his breaking point.
Tremble knew of a rocky history between Procyon Lotor and the Chipmunk Kingdom. Roughly one thousand years ago during the Chipmunk Kingdom’s Old Kingdom era, Raccoons and Chipmunks were not friends. Back in those days raccoon ransacked chipmunk towns and villages and pillaged chipmunk barrows of their winter food stores. When the Chipmunk Kingdom, during the New Kingdom Era, gained in power and were able to repel raccoons, the Chipmunk Kingdom decided to insure that the Raccoon Nation would be stripped of their ability to transgress against the kingdom or her allies. The Chipmunk Kingdom launched a massive counter offensive decimating raccoon forces. When Procyon Lotor capitchalated, the Chipmunk Kingdom removed the raccoon king and installed a provisional government that answered to the Chipmunk Kingdom while the Mississippi river and its delta would be overseen by the Chipmunk Kingdom itself. Nowadays, control of the Mississippi River and its Delta were finally handed back to the Provisional Government. However the Provisional Government is still answerable to the Chipmunk Kingdom. Though raccoons and chipmunk relations have eased, Tremble knew that all it would take to revive tensions between chipmunks and raccoons, was for a raccoon to transgress against the Chipmunk Kingdom in some way, shape, or form.
One night Todd and Bri were on their way home from a hard day’s work at the Landscaping company. Unbeknownst to the duo they were followed by Tremble, now the head of the HSO, and some of his henchmen. Bri dropped Todd off at his home and then returned to his own home.
During the drive to Todd’s apartment, Bri finally revealed his feelings for Todd. Much to Bri’s tearful elation, Todd finally revealed his true feelings for his raccoon friend. It was then Todd and Bri exchanged their first kisses that set them on a promising path that would send them to take their tight bonds beyond a close friendship into a loving couple.
Sadly though Todd and Bri’s budding romance never had a chance to blossom. The next day word got to Bri that Todd had been killed by Tremble. Distressed by the horrid news Bri went to the Landscaping company to seek help from his Father and Mother. However Bri found the landscaping building ransacked. He also found a note taped to the main entry door. Written by Tremble, the note read that Bri’s father and mother were kidnapped and that if Bri did not set out to the City of Chitimon, the Capital of the Chipmunk Kingdom, break into the Great Kiva and steal the Synergy Crystal, the most sacred and holy of all objects in the Chipmunk Kingdom, and then hand over the crystal to the HSO, Tremble and the HSO would proceed to kill Bri’s mother and father. Feeling like he had no other choice, Bri chose to go through with stealing the Synergy Crystal.
However when Bri made the attempt to break into the Kiva and steal the Synergy Crystal he was easily caught by the Keepers, who protect the Synergy Crystal, and was taken before his holiness, Tamias Orenberg, the Chieftain of all Chipmunk Kind. After questioning Bri, and through prayer and meditations, Tamias learned of Bri’s story.
Tamias caught onto Tremble’s attempts to cause friction and possible war between the Chipmunk Kingdom and Procyon Lotor by having a raccoon steal the Synergy Crystal. This and realizing that Bri had made the attempt as a bid to save his mother and father, Tamias gave Bri two options. The first option was to be handed over to authorities to face justice for the attempted thievery…. At the risk of the attempted thievery spreading across news media and invoking ire against the Raccoon Nation… and Bri serving time in a penal colony in some far away place, something that would serve no end but destroy Bri’s already devastated life while bringing friction between raccoons and chipmunks as the HSO wanted. Or two. Bri would be obligated to spend three summers (it was either that or an expected three years in a penal colony) with Tamias to assist the chipmunk with his duties as Chieftain and help maintain the chieftain’s home den in exchange for avoiding legal ramifications and possible friction with the Raccoon Nation. Thankfully Bri, accepted, chose the latter option.
To ensure that Bri would keep his end of the bargain and to help rescue Bri’s parents from Tremble’s clutches, the Chieftain himself would accompany Bri back to the Raccoon Nation and assist Bri in pulling the rescue. After a climactic struggle ending with Tremble and the HSO being driven out of the Raccoon Nation and Bri’s parents saved, Bri then returned with Tamias back to the Chipmunk Kingdom to serve the first of his three summers with Tamias.
During those three summers Bri learned a lot of life lessons from Tamias, exactly what the Chipmunk Chieftain was hoping for deep down. Though on the last day of Bri’s final summer with Tamias, the Chipmunk got a bit of a surprise. Bri grew to love Tamias and did not want to leave him high and dry. Bri was happy to see the heavily burdened chipmunk smile and be playful as the help he provided freed Tamias up from bearing the load of his work all on his own. The Chipmunk Chieftain setting aside what little time he had to care for Bri despite the transgression he had to serve his summers for was something that was too much to leave Tamias high and dry for. Bri knew that without the help he provided Tamias would be saddled with all of the weight of his work again.
Plus there was a big burden on Bri’s shoulders. Deep down he felt like he let down Todd by holding back his growing romantic love for him until the night of his best friend’s death. Bri faulted himself for that which bothered him deeply. The Raccoon hugged Tamias tight and broke down afraid that a similar fate would befall the Chipmunk if he left to be free from his obligations.
Tamias knew and appreciated Bri’s company every summer as it did take a lot of the workload of his duties off his shoulders. He was very thankful to the raccoon for that and went out of his way to show his gratitude by making Bri feel appreciated and valid, something the raccoon desperately needed. But it was more than that, deep down the chipmunk grew very fond of Bri. The raccoon’s boldness, wit, and mischievousness, reminded him of his brother. He liked that very much in the raccoon. Tamias also knew of Bri’s big heart and of his sweet charm. That raccoon charm was something else. Bri and Tamias shared intimate time with each other. The gentle way Bri approached him, the softness of his embrace, and the caressing by his dexterous raccoon hand paws give physical and psychological pleasure that was in a league all to its own. Bri was a sweetheart that deserved and needed a lot more than that hand he was dealt.
So Tamias proposed an idea to Bri that he would use his sway as Chipmunk Chieftain to obtain dual citizenship for Bri allowing him to come and go as he pleased between the Chipmunk Kingdom and Procyon Lotor plus also receive all of the benefits of citizenship to the Chipmunk Kingdom including Universal Health Care, tuition free education, and a Universal Basic Income, to name a few of the socio-economic floors Chipmunk Kingdom citizens are entitled to. This would pretty much guarantee a worry-free quality of life till his passing. In exchange, Bri would continue to spend his summers with Tamias. Bri accepted the offer without hesitation. It was not about the perks of citizenship to the Chipmunk Kingdom. Working for his mother and father running the landscaping business during his off time coupled with a stipend Tamias gave him was enough to give him a decent quality of life. Being with Tamias, alleviating pressure from the chipmunk, and seeing him enjoy every moment of his company and ife in general was something Bri loved. It made him happy and he wanted more of that.
From that point forth Bri spent his summers with the Chipmunk Chieftain while during the rest of the year he went back home to aid his mother and father in running the Landscaping business.
About Bri’s home:
Bri’s home is in the Raccoon Nation of Procyon Lotor. The 100 year old house itself is a charming 1500 square foot three bedroom two bath bungalow with a front porch located in a quiet rural area outside of Baton Rouge. Its detached garage is set up as a mechanic’s dream shop that Bri puts to good use in maintaining his 1970 Chevelle SS. On the back of the 5 acre property is a pole barn where he keeps a work vehicle and landscaping equipment for the family business as well as a few project cars he’s not had much chance to work on due to his time and attention divided by his summer stays with Tamias and helping with the family business during his time back home. One of the spare bedrooms is set up as a home recording studio containing his recording equipment and his guitar collection. Bri uses this space for posting his guitar music online during the winter months.
During his summer stays with Tamias, Bri has a good work friend to keep an eye on his home and pays him compensation for its upkeep.
Procyon Lotor:
The Raccoon Nation of Procyon Lotor is a representative federal republic, currently governed by the Provisional Government installed by the Chipmunk Kingdom as a means to end the constant pillaging and raids Raccoons conducted against Chipmunk towns and villages a long time ago. The government consists of the elected Congress and Senate with raccoons filling the seats of each legislative body. The Premier and his cabinet are the executive branch. The Premier who is a raccoon can pass into law or veto bills coming to his desk from the Congress and Senate. However The Judicial Branch is the Chipmunk Kingdom’s own Judicial Branch, The Supreme Tribunal, who can uphold or strike down laws in the Raccoon nation and hear cases sent from the Raccoon Nation’s lower courts. In addition the Chipmunk Kingdom appointed Governor General who has the power to purge a portion or the entirety of elected officials in the Provisional Government, closely monitors activities and insures no corruptions materialize.
The Chipmunk Kingdom’s heavy hand in Procyon Lotor is often criticized by the League of Animal Nations citing that the Raccoon Nation having improved economic conditions, higher quality of life, and lower crime rates, there is no longer need for the Chipmunk Kingdom’s interventions and that the Raccoon Nation should have sovereignty fully restored.. However, the Chipmunk Kingdom cites that such improvements were spurred by the fact that as part of the agreed deals for peace, the Chipmunk Kingdom provides funding for affordable health care, funding of infrastructural improvements that benefit both nations, namly the ports of New Oleans and the Mississippi River water way and protection by the Chipmunk Kingdom’s own military as Procyon Lotor itself is disallowed to form its own military.
However secretly, both the Chipmunk Kingdom and Procyon Lotor itself indeed hope for the raccoon nation to have its sovereignty fully restored someday. The Chipmunk Kingdom wants to devote more of its time and resources to improving its own nation and free up the Supreme Tribunal to hear more of the Kingdom’s own cases. Raccoons want full sovereignty and thus full control of their stretch of the MIssissippi River and New Orleans along with its ports so the economic benefits go back into the Raccoon Nation. However constant political debating and bickering in both nations and continuing threats from Ultra Conservative pro-sovereignty Raccoon Militias along with meddling by the Human Supremacist Organisation have forced the Chipmunk Kingdom’s continued interventions preventing any moves towards a full restoration of sovereignty.
Currently both the Chipmunk Kingdom and Procyon Lotor’s provisional government have agreed upon a long term initiative to expand the public educational system in the raccoon nation hedging their bets on the fact educated people tend to be far more resistant to the toxicity ultra right wing groups like the Pro-Sovereignty millities and the Human Supremacist Organization propagate. In addition the Chipmunk Kingdom through legislation is pressing social media companies to start banning hate speech, hate groups, and bigotry from their platforms if they wish to continue doing business in either nation.
Raccoon Religion:
The primary religion among Raccoons is Roman Catholicism introduced by human missionaries hundreds of years ago.
Before the arrival of the human missionaries, Raccoons practiced various tribal religions. One such tribal religion was centered around a Raccoon named Procyon Lotor, which the raccoon nation is named after. When the Animals had gathered to vote for day or night, Procyon was trusted to receive and count the votes for day or night. Despite pressure by Artakash, the bear who cast his vote for night, to falsify the vote count and that Procyon himself prefered night, the raccoon stood firm in his belief that there are only two things anyone is given. That would be their name and word. This in mind, Procyon stood firm against Artakash and accurately counted the votes including that cast by Hakooji, the Chipmunk who cast his vote for day. That one vote from the chipmunk allowed the day to prevail.
In retaliation, Artakash burned Procyon’s eyes so that he may never see the sun shine as the light would be too painful.. The evil bear also burned the raccoon’s hands so he may never touch the pleasant but only feel the pain and anguish of anything or anyone he touches. The Bear burned the raccoon’s feet so that only the filth of mud, cesspools, bogs, and dirty swamps would be the only places he can find comfort. The Bear burned his tail as a means to remind Procyon of the parels of defying the most powerful animal in the forest.
As chipmunks carry the scars of Artakash’s lethal claws in the form of stripes upon their backs, Raccoons carry the grievous burns Artakash inflicted upon Procyon in the form of their face masks, gloves, socks, and rings upon their tails. Raccoons emphasize washing of hands not just for cleanliness, but as a belief that washing their hands is the only way to feel anything pleasurable to the touch. Raccoons were active at night as they believed the cool ground kept their feet from hurting and their eyes sharp free from the pain of sun light. Only when Catholicism overtook tribal religions did raccoons become active during the day. Though they still hold on to some of their beliefs including washing of hands. Those old tribal beliefs also survive and persist in the heavy use of holy water in religious rituals. Hands are cleansed in holy water before entering the church, baptism is highly regarded, and the use of holy water is liberal in blessings. Church buildings are fastidiously kept spotless to near operation room levels of cleanliness and sanitation. Even in day to day life water and cleanliness of oneself and of anything touched is heavily emphasized to near obsessive levels putting the Raccoon Nation on par with the Chipmunk Kingdom in cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation.
In recent decades, Catholicism in Procyon Lotor has felt the effects of religion declining in the Human Nations of Europa where the Vatican and the Holy See are located. Therefore the religion has begun to lose influence in the Raccoon Nation. As a result the younger generations of raccoons such as Bri are either becoming atheist or reverting back to the tribal religions. In Bri’s case he moved away from religion to come to terms with the fact he is Homosexual, a taboo in Catholicism and Christianity in general.. He converted to the Chipmunk religion of Tawanism and was ordained a priest to aid Tamias as assistant celebrant in weekly services during his summer stays with the chipmunk Chieftain.
