It's December of 1959, and in the little community of Duran, NM, Little 5-year-old Donna Coyote is showing her mother and siblings the new kite her father Al made for her. Believe it or not, he used the Christmas wrap the kite came in as the sail part...so the family had to unwrap the gifts very carefully without tearing the paper. And though gift wrap is marginally thin, it's strong against medium-to-high winds as well. Months later, the cubs would be able to go outside and fly their kites, along with their 2018 stepsibling Clarence. Fortunately they decided to fly the kites in an open field free of trees and power lines, so the kites wouldn't get caught up in them.
The picture below is in the late spring of 1960 when the kite got stuck in the tree.
The only reason it's 4AM in the second drawing is because the kite had been stuck in the tree for hours or maybe days. I'm pretty sure it's daytime when Donna shows the kite in the first drawing.

Now that I think of it this is Donna's only really good picture, today she'd be whining about being underrepresented!
Something also tells me that with all her big bros, a daddy that is rather adventurous and a rough desert environment she may be a little more tomboyish when non-formal, or just a false hunch?

Thank you very much; I'm glad you like it! I do put a lot of work into my pictures, and into the model car kits I show over at DeviantArt: Mr-Pink-Rose
As for Donna's outfit, it was the late 1950s/early 1960s...so I was kind of torn between her wearing a pretty dress and wearing some outfit similar to her brothers.
