Background: Darius Watkins was born a male Werewolf Hybrid in the city of Chicago. Darius was born with mixed dark and light-brown fur with some Peach and had bright-brown eyes. His farther Marius was half Husky, half Werewolf and his mother Elaine was half Wolf, half Fox. Darius was born in mid March of 1940.
Darius's father Marius, was a professional Boxer who had just won the championship. His wife Elaine was due to deliver her baby any day. Marius and Elaine loved and supported each-other greatly and we're very eager to become parents, but it was never meant to be. On March 18th after winning the championship, Marius was talking with some reporters while Elaine walked to her car, when she suddenly got it and pushed against a wall. The driver was the former Boxing champion that Marius defeated and we was completely drunk.
Marius rushed his wife to the hospital. Hours later, Marius was told by the doctors that his wife died on the table after giving birth. The doctors told Marius that his newborn son was alive and well and didn't sustain any injuries from the crash. Marius was then taken to his son and he named the baby Darius. Marius held his son in his arms for a while, then overheard one of the nurses talking about the boxing match and that the former boxer was in the very hospital he was in and what room he was in.
The former boxer was also rushed to the hospital from injuries resulting from the crash. Marius felt a rush of anger come over him. After laying his son dawn and kissing him, he went to his opponents room and found a police officer outside the door sleeping. Marius took the gun from the cops holster and walked into the room and shot the former champion multiple times in his sleep.
Marius was quickly detained and arrested and charged with manslaughter. During the trial, Marius was sentenced to Forty Years in prison. Marius's actions had cost him his career and the chance to be a father.
With no other relatives, Darius was taken and raised at an orphanage. Growing up, Darius was only told that his father was a no good crook. He was also intrigued by many things. When he was Four, Darius watched a boxing match on the television and started throwing punches when he could and wanted to become a Pro Boxer. Darius began taking boxing seriously when he was ten years old and began working out and building his muscles.
Darius became a trouble maker when he was fourteen, for he had gotten into fights at school and was aroused by Strippers. One day after school, he met a bunch of street animals who were fighting and asked if he could join in. The animals thought Darius was being silly at first, but could tell he was being serious after seeing the expression on his face. The animals then took Darius to an underground gym, where they would hold Boxing matches every Saturday. Darius was told that they get paid good money if they win a match and signed up.
Everyday after school. Darius would go to the gym and train with the other animals and compete in the fights every Saturday. Darius began winning matches after three weeks, but was given small earnings even though he lost matches. Whenever he got money, Darius would go to the alleys where strippers hung out and paid them to have a fun time. Being with the girls aroused Darius and he enjoyed every second of it.
Darius trained and competed at the gym for two years. During his training, Darius developed a sense of smell, sharp focus and excellent hearing. One night in June of 1956, the gym was discovered by an undercover cop and everyone was arrested for illegal fighting, including Darius.
Darius spent the night in jail and the next morning, the cop on duty told him that he had a visitor. Darius figured is was the owner of the orphanage to come and get him, but when he was taken to the interrogation room, Darius was surprised to see a male German Shepard in a three-piece suit sitting on the other side of the table. After sitting down, the Dog introduced himself as Timothy Andrews.
When Darius asked him what he wanted of him, Timothy only mentioned that Darius looked like his father. Darius commented rudely about what he knew of his fathers, but Timothy told that there was more. Timothy then told Darius about his father and mother and of how Marius was a boxer who rose up to be the campion and of how he was kind and deeply in love with Elaine. He then told Darius about the night of the accident when his mother died and his fathers arrest. Timothy said that Marius would've have been given a Life sentence if it hadn't been for the accident.
When Darius asked as to how Timothy knew his parents, Timothy explained that he was Marius's boxing manager and long-time childhood friend. Timothy then took out pictures of Marius and Elaine. Darius then asked as to how Timothy found him. Timothy said that he believed that the baby also died on the night of the accident, but had received a call from a friend in the police department that they arrested Darius, mentioning Marius's last name. Timothy then went to the hospital and learned that the baby was alive and then showed Darius a picture from the night he was born.
Darius saw his father holding him when he was a baby. Timothy then talked about seeing the pictures of Darius fighting in the underground gym and then told Darius that he could spend his days street fighting, or start boxing for him. Darius was surprised that Timothy asked him to be a boxer for him. Timothy explained that he was best manager in the boxing world and had his own corporation and he could offer Darius the same opportunities he gave Marius.
As Darius looked at the picture of his father from the championship fight, he felt a sense of happiness come over him and felt his dream was about to come true. Darius looked as Timothy with a smile and agreed, but under one condition. Darius wanted to meet his father. After he agreed, Timothy bailed Darius out and took him to the state prison to see Marius. When Darius saw his father, he only made a blank look, as did Marius. They stared at each other for a moment, then hugged and cried.
They both then saw how muscular they looked, then they sat down and began talking. Marius told his son about his life, his boxing career and his mother Elaine. Marius then gave Darius a set of letters he had written for him, but wasn't allowed to send them out. Darius then told his father about his life and how Timothy wanted to help him be a Boxer. Marius was surprised at first, but happy that his son wanted to follow in his footsteps. Marius then told Timothy to train him well, but also to take care of him.
After the visit, Timothy took Darius back to the orphanage and adopted him, becoming his legal Guardian and God Father. Darius was taken to live in Timothies mansion. The next day, Timothy had Darius look over and sign a Boxing Contract with the same terms that were offered to Marius. After he signed it, Timothy took Darius out shopping. Timothy began explaining the steps and rules into becoming a Pro Boxer. The first step they began with, was appearance.
Timothy explained there two parts in Appearance. The first part was what to wear inside the Boxing ring, so they went to a sporting goods store and shopped for Boxing gear. Darius liked the color green, so he picked out a set of green shorts and Boxing Gloves, along with white shoes, socks and a muscle shirt. After that, they went to another clothing store that was a bit more classy.
Timothy said the second part in appearance was what to wear for outside the Boxing ring, mainly how to look for photographs and interviews. Darius was then measured by the tailor and started looking at the all the men's dress suits in the shop. After a while, Darius had the tailor dress him in a two-piece suit with suspenders and a double-breasted jacket. Darius thought he looked sharp in the suit and looked at himself with an elegant smile. Darius told Timothy he wanted the suit style he picked to be his fancy attire.
After that, Darius was ready to enter the world of Boxing. Timothy had given him a strict training schedule and mandatory diet. Timothy even hired a private tutor so Darius could finish school and also took him to association meetings to learn the rules of Boxing. Darius felt he meetings were rather boring, but necessary. Darius began his boxing career in a junior tournament in October of 1956. He won the first match and all the matches after that.
Darius had an objective to become a Boxing champion like his father. Timothy also told Darius about sponsors, photo sessions and also how to act in-front of the press and what to say in interviews. Darius always wrote to his father and spoke about him highly. Whenever he wore a suit, Darius made it a thing to make an elegant smile, while showing his teeth. The smile and look attracted a lot of attention from the ladies and Darius sometimes took a girl or two home with him after winning a match.
Darius trained as a Boxer for twelve years, winning match after match. He competed in tournaments in the United States and all around the world and in 1968, he entered the championship tournament. Darius had been training for many years to get to this point.
Even though Darius's life started out hard, he was able to make his dream a reality, with the help of family and friends.
