Here is something interesting about Hotel California. In the area you just mentioned they mention, just can't kill the beast. This was a homage or pointer to a group that the Eagles happen to like to listen to in point of fact. In a song done by this other group they pay homage, or point toward the Eagles in exchange. Just thought you guys might find that interesting they mentioned it in an interview once.
