Hi, a new Nocturnal series is out. It’s made to be the first read and require no knowledge of the world at all. Check it out here! https://inkbunny.net/s/2279501
She didn't agree to anything, I use the word slave here pretty deliberately. In the Slow Justice story, it's mentioned that people just started indenturing servants after "the slave trade was ended" instead. So that would be the reason she has to be paid.

Wait I thought evolution stones don't work after the user doesn't want them to? You basically can stop the evolution if you don't want to evolve, even with a stone, and also they never agreed to anything, she refused him so he just raped her and forced her to evolve she's not under any contract right now right?

Why? I left the writer or in this case comic writer actually put some information about that in the story I actually go with the bass information, because i'm sure most pokemon would want to avoid situations like this.

You can't stop an Evolution stone, evolution. Here's a quote from the Evolution stone wiki under the In Core Series Games section "Using an Evolution stone on an appropriate Pokémon causes it to evolve instantly, consuming the Evolution stone. This process cannot be stopped by pressing the B button." Pokemon has pretty soft lore as well, or rather more specifically 4-5 different cannons with slight lore variations. So don't get mad if people have slightly different interpretations of the lore than you.

Wait I thought you could stop those? And I wouldn't be angry I was actually ask you a question, I actually had no clue you could have stopped Stone base Evolution or trade evolution never thought I'd hang be given the fact that I wanted to evolve them, but I thought it would be just like any other evolution.

Game mechanics is not the same thing as lore, though. It makes sense to have that as a game mechanic so you don't accidentally waste your item, but that does not mean it is a lore-based desgin. Meanwhile, Pikachu literally smacks a thunderstone out of Ash's hand in the anime, and a similar thing happens when you use one on Pikachu in Yellow. We also have Cleary carrying Moonstone, and while not stone related, we have Ash's Bulbasaur canceling his own evolution without trainer input.

Technically, in the games, you can't stop a stone or a trade evolution once it starts. You can stop a level-based one though. Trade and Level based can be prevented by use of Everstones.

On top of what the other's said. I also thought in the games that it was the trainer who stopped the evolution by "surprising" the Pokemon, and the jolt was big enough to interrupt the process. I don't know if the Pokemon itself can stop it.

Going back to read the scenes before this, I guess she wasn't fully aware of how much trouble she was getting herself in.
I gotta wonder if she has any plans at this point. I can't imagine Brene's freedom being too useful if she isn't free herself to coordinate the rescue. I suppose Veera could've told her what to do beforehand though.
