Jed Coyote had a nightmare as a result of a scary experience when Al and Marge were letting the cubs drive out on the Indian service roads.

Clarence is driving the family's 1960 Chrysler 300 (then a new car only 8 months old)
Daddy Al is riding on the passenger's seat.
Oldest brother Jed is leaning forward over the console from the back and telling Clarence, "Clarence! Stop!"

What had actually happened that day when Clarence was fooled by that 2nd train, Al lunged his leg across the console and slammed on the brakes just in time to avoid getting by an 85 mph passenger train...and with only two feet to spare.

Al also quickly reached over the steering column and pushed the neutral button on the transmission Select-o-Matic controls on the dash, followed by Clarence jerking his foot off the accelerator to stop the motor from racing in neutral.

The continuation of Jed's nightmare will be posted in a few days, which will have to rated "Adult" for strong violence, blood, serious injury or death...which is only a dream of course.

Fortunately, Jed's nightmare was only a bad dream.

It must have been easier when he was smaller and steered while sitting on his lap and he had full pedal control!

Clarence is still barely seeing over the steering wheel in order to reach the petals.

No wonder he  didn't see the train.

Of course, Clarence was told by Daddy Al not to proceed until he was told it was safe to do so...Clarence disobeyed Daddy by assuming it was all clear then putting it in drive and stepping on the gas.

I had a similar nightmare the night before my first driving lesson, except it involved me hitting other cars and getting multimillion dollar lawsuits.  Fortunately that didn't happen.

And I'll bet Clarence noticed Jed having that nightmare and realized he caused it.

Jed doesn't hold it against him though.

That's good to know.

That sounds scary, especially if the nightmare happens on my Birthday. The only nightmares the birthday boy got is the scenes from Nightmare on Elm Street.

That would be a bad time for a nightmare.
