If there's one thing Caliburn enjoys spending time with Sonic, it's the peaceful moments in their life. The blue blur is always off fighting that fat scientist in whatever technological scheme he devises. Sometimes he tags along, blasting robots with magic blasts since his sword isn't made of material strong enough to slice through the metal shells. When Sonic invites him on a date, he knows it's going to be nice. His mate knows some of the best places across the planet, giving him a venture that no stories from his time as a knight can compare to. From the bustling yet peaceful downtown streets of their own city, to the lush beaches and jungles of Adabat, there's always something new to discover. It's on one such occasion though that Caliburn feels a sense of... familiarity. When they warp to Spagonia, it's almost like walking back into his own time. The brick-laden houses and buildings spiraling outward into a vast network remind him of the castle grounds. The cobblestone walkways are warm and familiar... Even the scents of the hanging flower baskets and baked goods remind him of centuries past. It seems the sensations are mutual, the blue hedgehog linking their bare hands together in a thoughtful gesture. "I think a good bit about Camelot too when I'm here," Sonic explains, causing a grin to spread over his muzzle. "Heh, you're gonna love the place I picked out for us, c'mon!" With that they were hurrying along, their bare feet barely making a sound while they raced to their destination through the market streets. When they entered through the doors of a cafe and were led to a table on the balcony, Caliburn was momentarily struck by a sudden memory. Finding the table there, just a different coloring and view... it was exactly like their first date in Camelot. As Sonic sat down, for a moment, Caliburn could see Sonic as he used to be, the striking blue fur, simple gloves and special shoes, while he himself hadn't had any clothes to his name for the temporary body. Now though, despite wearing a green yukata, his hands and feet bare, and white arrows adorning his stripes, he wasn't that much different. "Hm... feeling nostalgic, are we?" He gave Sonic a charming grin. "Then allow me to return the favor." With a gentle flourish, he slipped out of his modern outfit, taking his time to fold the jeans, shirt, and jacket before taking his own seat. The action got a familiar chuckle out of Sonic, who simply shook his head. Really, Caliburn counted himself lucky. Of all the fates that he could have received, this was by far the best... |
