It's not like Amber wanted to be here. She didn't choose to be in this tall building in the middle of nowhere, abandoned and empty for what seems like a good long while now. No, all she wanted to do was leave, to go back home and never think about this place ever again. But she came here, on her own terms, because this was the last place Nina was seen, and she had been gone for more than two hours now. The little filly was concerned, and made a mad dash inside without really thinking. She hoped to find her sister and get out of here, but somehow she managed to get lost.
Worse still, weird things started happening the second she ran inside. For starters, when she entered the building it was still fairly light, around 3:30 pm. But, whenever she would look outside it was dark and foggy. Checking her phone offered no help, as not only did it not have any service, but her phone battery had lost half it's charge since entering, and she's only been inside for at least an hour. More things started to act odd too, like how there was a fog inside the building, any outside sounds like cars and birds seemed non-existent, and the boards underneath her creaked with every other step. Worse still, while the building outside looked like it had at least three floors, Amber noted that she had already gone up five flights, and the stairs seemed to keep going up.
Something was absolutely wrong here, and she just wanted to go home now. But, she still hasn't found Nina, and now, a cold feeling in her mind has her thinking that there might be someone following her too. She'd see a shadow looming behind her, one that was distinctly not cat shaped, and no matter how many times she'd round a corner that shadow would still persist. It made her more cautious, more scared, more alone. She just wanted to go home now, but she couldn't.
The sounds of footsteps would grow closer and closer to her now, and none of the rooms around her could open. She was already starting to run low on her phone, and now, she couldn't even find the stairs leading down...
"Nina... Papa.. Help me..." she cried, taking a quick glance back, only to see the shadow behind her again. This time, it looked much bigger, its footsteps sounding closer. Her heart raced, and in a blind panic she would run as fast as possible down this long hallway that seemed to stretch forever into the darkness. She screamed, and yet, to anyone outside, they would not hear her. All they'd see is a condemned building at the edge of town, abandoned and undisturbed.
