Slowly getting better - started doing a couple of my own characters, but based on the same style. Still using photos or other artwork for poses and stuff, but drawing freehand rather than tracing.
Nice, and getting better, of course, but don't knock tracing. Most of the greatest artists in the industry learned from tracing. It teaches your hand line language and flow.
