While I do see Tails as a sort of secret badass, I'm not sure if I like the idea of him being so lean... It is sexy and well drawn, don't get me wrong! I'm just not into the idea myself. ^^;

Oh everyone knows he's a hero, but everyone thinks he's mostly just a geek, and relies more on his cunning than his brawn. While that is certainly true, the guy is also a surprisingly strong fighter in his own right, capable of holding up his own mechs with one hand (as seen in Tails' stages in SA2) and he single-handedly fought off the Birdo Armada in Tails Adventure, using a variety of homemade bombs and mechs. As a bonus, according to the original Japanese manual, Tails Adventure happened before the guy even met Sonic, yet he can still be seen performing the spin-dash in the later stages of the game, which means that he's the one who invented the iconic technique!
That's what I'm trying to say here: Tails might seem meek in comparison to the likes of Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles, but he's certainly not someone you should underestimate.

You do understand that intelligence and strength ain't mutually exclusive right? Also when has there ever been a moment in the series were a character says Tails is smart there for can't be strong? I'll answer it for you, no one did, and that isn't quite what everyone means.

I think you meant to say while that is certainly not true, as it seems you are implying that he over relies on his gadgets when he doesn't as he is very capable without them since most games he's pretty much using mostly his brawn. You do also realize that in Tails Adventure, Tails can use his fist in that game? If you ain't implying that he some how over relies on his gadgets, then am I supposedly suppose to believe that him using his brain at all is a bad thing?

This is very backwards, Sonic, Knuckles, and Shadows seem meek in comparison to Tails.
All Sonic has is super speed which is something every Sonic character actually has. (thank you Sonic movie for understanding that.)
Knuckles can glide, oh wait Tails has the better ability called flight.
Shadow? He actually has nothing, his speed is not natural its instead artificial because he gets speed from his shoes, chaos control is him using the chaos emeralds, something anyone can do, and what else him uncharacteristically using guns? Tails was using weapons long before Shadow.

How am I ranting, all I'm doing is calling you out on your bull. When you brought up Tails Adventure you deliberately ignored Tails actually punching in that game to make your dumb "he's a secret badass" seem correct. Hell you tried using Sonic Adventure 2 as a scapegoat which is a game that forces Tails in a mech so wow one game out of how many?

Look, the very basis that I'm basing my "secret badass"-argument on isn't that Tails has done all of this. It's that he's done this without most people realising his potential. Yes, you and I both clearly know he's very capable, but most people have either overlooked these things or don't know about them, because of the way Tails is presented by SEGA, especially in later titles, which while it's certainly bad writing very much summerizes how they've tried to portray him for a long time now.
Also, since I have to point it out: Tails might have done a lot of cool things, but it often pales in comparison to his friends' physical displays of power and athleticism. Sonic has outrun bolts of lightning, almost escaped a black hole and consistently overcome overwhelming odds with a sense of ease. Knuckles has punched the ground hard enough to cause a volcanic eruption, ignited the air with the speed of his fist and kept overcoming opponents much smarter than him on a regular basis. Shadow was powerful enough to obliterate a whole fleet of alien spaceships with a single Chaos Blast, powered through a small army of Mephisto clones, and can use chaos powers without accessing any sort of super form. Tails doesn't have access to this sort of raw power, and has to make up for it with his machines and mechs. Yet despite being utterly outclassed by his friends and opposition, he still manages to make a dent every time, thanks to his genius level intellect and tactical savvy. And that's why I like Tails: He might be strong compared to us, but not compared to those around him, yet he constantly comes out on top, when the writing allows him a chance to fight directly that is... Thus, secret badass!
