It is 3:07 am, August 8th, 1960, and six pit bull teenagers are out cruising around well after midnight in the 1959 Cadillac owned by Biff and Richie's dad. This is what is left to a coin-op laundromat in Albuquerque at 2:30 am after Biff, Richie, Gaston and their girl friends broke into all the money boxes, then smashed up everything with crow bars, sledge hammers, steel mallets and wrecking bars. The delinquent pit bull teenagers figured as long as there was no one else around that time a night, it would be fun, shits 'an giggles to smash the Hell out of the washers and dryers after they've taken the nickles and dimes out of them...It's a large laundromat, and the amount of money taken was one fourth of what it would take to buy a low price brand new car (nearly $450). Of the 42 Huebsch commercial dryers the laundromat has, only 11 are now capable of running...And the statistics on the Speed Queen commercial washers is about the same. The floor is also flooded with an inch of water from where Gaston smashed a stainless steel sink off a wall, and from where Aiva smashed a toilet to pieces in the restroom.
Biff and Richie's parents, Reginald and Diana Collindale Pitbull, don't really care about the behavior of their sons as long as they don't get caught...Daddy Pitbull doesn't like spending money on defense attorney fees. Gaston Kelton Pitbull's parents, Travis and Amber, didn't raise him any better either. As for the girls, they might have been raised halfway right by their parents, though they did get in with the wrong bunch with the boy friends they fell in love with.

Another difference also was, if those pit bulls ever got caught wrecking that laundromat, they would be doing some jail time. Then once they got out on probation, all six of them would be made to reimburse the insurance company for the money they put out until the damage to all those machines and other equipment, as well as damage to the building, was paid for. That money would eventually come out of those pit bull's pockets if they had been caught.
Now days it seems to be more often than not they would say, "Aw, they're just teenagers". That money today ultimately comes out of the pockets of the laundromat owner or the insurance company even if the vandals were caught.

I bet they would! I personally know/know of plenty over the years who got arrested, booked and given community service for it. I kind of meant that back then it was less talked of then today but was as common then as ever. Ok, juvie is depending on their age, I doubt they are 13 but under 19?

Ok, I'd be tougher and have seen first hand tougher on people like Biff and Sandra due too their legal adult age and yeah they'd get maybe 6 months or so, the rest will depend of their history and would get anything from community service and a record too juvie where I live.

And in 1956, Richie managed to swing a light weight chain and let it fly up into some power lines in the neighborhood where he lives one evening. It arced the power lines and brought one of them down with a blue flash, buzz and a bang, and caused a neighborhood black out. A police officer saw Richie doing that and had to chase him over a few fences and through a few back yards before catching him.

I've actually seen a coin-op laundromat in Sanford, Florida that had been done to about 30 years ago. I went there to do laundry and had to go to one somewhere else.
