A Light In Dark Places

Turtles... Forever.
set default image size: small | medium | wide
A word on the title: ...um... a possible attempt at being profound, brought on by sleep deprivation, and a desire for quiet solitude? O.o I have no idea what I was thinking when I typed it just now...

I drew this early yesterday, with the assumption that I would be able to return to it and/or draw something else, later in the evening... being Friday, that assumption was a mistake; everyone else stays awake later on Fridays and weekends... hell if I know why; I mean I stay awake until about 2-3am every night... don't get me wrong, though, I'm glad they all go to bed early on weekdays, it gives me some peace and quiet to myself, that I can't get while they're awake.

It was on a whim, just a little practice or warmup sketch; I wasn't going anywhere with it, he was just meant to be a little goat boy sitting... I don't know, on a rock or something, looking over his shoulder sort of... I don't know. He came out looking sad, so I added some tears. Tried to draw hooves because I was in a mood for hooves, but they wouldn't look right, so I took them out. I didn't feel like drawing anything now, but the picture felt too plain on it's own, so I gave it a bit of a... uh... I don't know, what would you call that, anyway? I used the same sort of 'technique' (if you can call it that) as that 'Lego Scrolls' picture of mine... I'm still surprised at how well that one turned out! X3
After scribbling this, I spent the rest of the day thinking about grabbing some paper and scribbling something more appropriate to the annoyance and frustration I was feeling... I recall something about a screaming skull, pulling his hair and... uh... I don't know, the thought was just all thick, heavy pencil lines and a resolute determination to not use an eraser... I was in a bit of a bad mood. This picture is a hell of a lot quieter by comparison to the wild lines I associated in my mind's eye to that bad mood. O_o

On a positive note, I feel I should mention that those relatives have found a place that will be available in two weeks, from a couple of days ago... so, a week and a half I guess... although, counting the amount of time it will take to move their stuff, I thinks it's safe to say two whole weeks for now. Yay! ^_^

A take on the classic "hurt puppy" art from the 60s and 70s.
And don't we all feel like this at some time.
A heart-touching pic.
