This is the seal, the logo of the Allied Sultanates. It is used as a seal on crates, documents and objects that belong to the Allied Sultanates, such as wells in the deserts, milestones, messenger uniforms and their equipment.
It is also found, often made from glazed bricks, over the gates of every town, sietch and village that is a member of the Allied Sultanates, where it is proudly shown above the cities own coat of arms to signify the cities submission to the laws of the Calipha. In that case the moon is made from silver bricks, the sword is made from black bricks or obsidian, the water is formed from blue bricks or even lapislazuli, and the plant is made from green bricks, or green gemstones. Some cities actually have a small balcony with plants to signify the plants of the logo.
