Boy! this page was a bit harder than expected. I wanted to show Canis Major's hangar one last time, but from a different angle. Kind of a callback to the first time I showed it back in page 9, since we see the little Retcan ship leaving instead of arriving.

Also, designing the ship's interior on the go was almost downright stressful! I'm not used to these kind of things and I didn't have a clear image in my mind as of how I wanted it to look. So designs (just like with other environments) might change with time. very subtly as I get a clearer idea of what I want, and as I get a bit better at it.

"The time had finally come. Husky's paws had touched Canis Major for the last time, as long as his journey would last. Excited as he was, many thoughts started to fill his mind at that moment. Reality kicked it... Would he be ready for this challenge?"

Story, characters and art by me.

Jeez, I can't even imagine trying to design not only the interior of the transport ship, but also the hanger? I admire it.

I just noticed how well you've used different color palettes to distinguish different places. It started with the inviting and warm reds of home. Then it had lively open spaces with natural greens and browns, emphasizing the scale and sustainability of Canis Major. Now the cool blues really highlight how different the hanger is. It's ironic that blue is simultaneously the color for the tiny, claustrophobic shuttle and the color of the infinite expanse of space. It really emphasizes the liminality of this space.

Of course, I'm speaking from human trichromatic perception. I expect evocanids and retcans would see things differently!

I am truly flattered that someone noticed this. It was indeed a design choice to reflect the mood and purpose of each area of the colony.

As for how Evos see the world, well not quite like their ancestors, but also not like us. They do see red and orange more than their ancestors, giving them a color perception like hours, but less saturated. Kind of washed out. However they do see in a clarity and sharpness superior than our sight.

As for Retcans, I've never thought of it. I'm thinking similar, but with a higher sensitivity to yellows, which is why they have so much liking to golden metals and ornaments, which they usually wear as part of their traditions.
